It's Okay To Not Know What You Want

Just do it.

From about the time we are in 11th grade the questions start. What college do you want to attend? What would you like to major in? What do you plan on doing after graduation? Some people have definitive plans and know exactly what they want and some people have no idea what they want. Some people go from knowing exactly what they want to not knowing at all.

I for one never know what I want. I am probably the most indecisive person in the world. I have changed my major three different times and have hopes and dreams of going to grad school, but I have no idea what I would go for. I started off as early childhood and special education, and now I am psychology/criminal justice with a minor in public health. If you are a person like me that stresses over something like that like I am STOP. I am telling you to stop right now. Take every day as it goes. My one professor once said to go with your gut on all the small decisions and save your energy for all the bigger decisions in your life. Be happy and take every opportunity to try something new that you can.

Change your major as many times as you want, change your outfit before you leave the house as many times as you want, move towns as many times as you want. Go ahead and quit knitting lessons and join karate. Do something out of your comfort zone. Ask a friend to join dance classes if you are too shy to do something by yourself. If you are too afraid or too shy, try not to be. If you are not happy with a job that you have quit it and find a new one. Life is way too short to be miserable every day. Life is also way to short to be taken advantage of every day so go out and accomplish something great today. If it is not today then go out and do it tomorrow. Do something new and be adventurous.

Get out there! Even if you think you won't get the job or won't like the sport, DO IT. If you want to move somewhere new but are afraid of being lonely, DO IT. If you think people will judge you for the color lipstick you want to try or the dress that may show too much cleavage; buy it! If you think you are going to feel guilty after that extra piece of cake, eat it anyway. Who cares? Am I right? Be the happiest you that you can be.

You can put yourself out there or you can just ignore all your dreams and let them fall to the wayside. You really never know what could happen.

The keywords here are DO IT; but it, eat it, apply for it, go for it. Sometimes you have to take the bull by the horns and tackle it. Sometimes it is fun not knowing. You never know.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
