It's that time of year again, folks! All of our favorite shows are coming back, and we are more than ready. Go ahead and set your DVRs so you won't miss your OGs along with some newbie shows you should give a chance during this second week of premieres!
"Gotham": Monday, Sept. 21 at 8/7c on FOX
"Gotham: Season Two" has been aptly titled "Rise of the Villains." The first season introduced us to Oswald Cobblepot (Penguin), Harvey Dent (Two-Face), Edward Nygma (Riddler), Selina Kyle (Catwoman), Jim Gordon and Bruce Wayne along with his butler, Alfred. Season one left us with Fish Mooney’s demise and Penguin claiming to be “The King of Gotham,” Nygma becoming a killer, and Gordon’s future wife in the comics, Barbara, having a mental breakdown. Season two promises to give more insight as to how the criminals of Gotham rise and how Batman, as we know him, is born.
"The Big Bang Theory": Monday, Sept. 21 at 8/7c on CBS
At the end of season eight, we saw Penny and Leonard about to wed in Las Vegas, Sheldon and Amy ended their five-year relationship, and, more importantly, Sheldon was seen with an engagement ring. Hopefully, in season nine, we will finally see Penny and Leonard tie the knot, but how will they react to Leonard’s ex-fling showing up unexpectedly? Will Sheldon earn Amy’s love and do what fans thought was unthinkable for the shy germophobe genius and propose? Set your DVR, because I know you will already be watching "Gotham."
"Scorpion": Monday, Sept. 21 at 9/8c on CBS
"Scorpion" is partly based around the life of Walter O’Brien. O’Brien is a self-professed genius and computer expert. Think of "Scorpion" as a new age "MacGyver" mixed with "The Island of Misfit Toys." The first season left us with quite a few questions about what will happen next. Is Walter healed, and will he remember what happened in the hospital? Is Paige back? Are Toby and Happy finally going to figure out how to make it work? Most importantly, what has the precious Sylvester been up to?
"Minority Report": Monday, Sept. 21 at 9/8c on FOX
Taking place in 2065, 11 years after the 2002 Tom Cruise film with the same name, the show "Minority Report" on Fox will follow Dash (Stark Sands) as he searches for his missing twin and helps Detective Lara Vega (Meagan Good) to prevent crimes without revealing his secret.
"Castle": Monday, Sept. 21 at 10/9c on ABC
Everyone’s favorite crime-fighting author Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is back in season eight with Beckett (Stana Katic) by his side. At the end of Season Seven, Castle revealed what brought him to writing and how he also won an award from The International Society of Mystery Writers. Beckett was asked to run for the New York Senate spot after passing her captain’s exam and interviews. Will they say yes to this drastic career change, or will a life of fighting crime finally catch up to them?
"Blindspot": Monday, Sept. 21 at 10/9c on NBC
Are you a fan of the Bourne series? If the answer is yes, then tune into "Blindspot." "Blindspot" is a new series following a woman (Jaimie Alexander) who was found with no memory of her life and covered in mysterious tattoos. Each tattoo on her body contains a clue for a crime that the FBI has to solve. She also appears to be an expert on self-defense and martial arts.
"The Muppets": Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8/7c on ABC
"The Muppets" will be a mockumentary style show that follows Miss Piggy as she hosts a late night show on ABC. I don’t know about you, but I can’t even handle Kermit being with anyone besides Miss. Piggy. The show will have our favorite Muppets along with some A-list guest stars.
"Scream Queens": Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8/7c on FOX
Ryan Murphy’s "Scream Queens" promises to be funny and unique with, Jamie Lee Curtis ("Halloween") and Emma Roberts ("American Horror Story: Coven") starring. Joining Kappa Kappa Tau sorority at the exact time a crazed killer dressed as a red devil is trying to murder everyone in it? That’s probably not in a girl’s best interest!
"NCIS": Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8/7c on CBS
Last season's fans were left with a cliffhanger after a three-part finale. The 14th season of NCIS will begin with Gibbs in a precarious position after being shot in the chest by Luke. They won't kill off Gibbs, right?
"Limitless": Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 10/9c on CBS
Taking a pill to become the smartest person in the world? I think a lot of people would sign up for that. Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook) will guest star as Eddie Morra, his character from the film. The show stars Jake McDorman (American Sniper) and Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter).
"Survivor": Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 8/7c on CBS
Jeff Probst is back with "Survivor: Cambodia". The OG reality show starts its 31st season with some familiar fan favorites who won the public’s votes to return.
"Rosewood": Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 8/7c on FOX
Morris Chestnut ("The Best Man Holiday") will star as pathologist Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. The show will follow Dr. Rosewood as he makes the most of the time he has left to live by helping police catch murderers.
"The Goldbergs": Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 8:30/7:30c on ABC
Our favorite '80s family is back this season with more antics! If Beverly Goldberg isn’t one of your favorite characters, then I don’t know what planet you live on. Don’t lie, you know she is just like your mom. That’s exactly why we love her.
"Empire": Wednesday Sept. 23 at 9/8c on FOX
Who will rule the empire? Season One ended with Lucious being arrested for a murder, Cookie trying to commit a murder, and the Empire’s successor up in the air. Fox’s latest hit promises to bring even more stars in guest slots this season with Mariah Carey making an appearance.
"Modern Family": Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9/8c on ABC
Oh, look! Claire was somehow able to get everyone to wear white for the family picture! When are Haley and Andy finally going to get together? Hopefully this season will finally give us all what we have been waiting for!
"Nashville": Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 10/9c on ABC
The country drama is back with its fourth season. Is Deacon alive? Will Rayna and Juliet ever be able to get along!? Doubtful! Here's hoping we finally get a wedding for Rayna and Deacon! I'm still holding out for Scarlett and Gunnar to reconcile, personally.
"Heroes Reborn": Thursday, Sept. 24 at 8/7c on NBC
"Heroes" is back and they’ve brought some of our familiar favorites with a new story line! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what Hiro and the man with the horn-rimmed glasses will get into! Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like Hayden Panettiere will return, since she is filming "Nashville."
"SHONDALAND":
Let’s be honest it's Shonda’s world, we just live in it.
Grey’s Anatomy: Thursday Sept. 24th at 8/7c on ABC
Grey’s promises to bring fans a lighter season after the tragic one we all endured. What will happen to Mer and the crew with all the big changes from last season? Will Christina ever come back? Are April and Jackson ever going to be okay? How will Karev and Jo’s new living situation work out? Also, #RIPMcDreamy this season will not be the same without you. ):
Scandal: Thursday Sept. 24th at 9/8c on ABC
Olivia Pope and her gladiators are back FINALLY. Last season took us through many twists and turns to get Olivia and Fitz back together. You can’t take command, huh? Rowan has been arrested, but I doubt that story line is anywhere near an end. Jake was dead, then he was not so dead. Mellie has gotten herself into quite the situation. My main man Huck did something awful, and Quinn may not be too forgiving. As usual, this season should be scandalous.
How to Get Away with Murder: Thursday Sept. 24th at 10/9c on ABC
Season two of Shonda’s newest ABC show promises to be even more mysterious and thrilling than the first. Season one's two hour finale gave us answers about Lila finally, but left us with even more questions! After learning Frank killed Lila and then Rebecca winding up dead? I can't even begin to wonder what twists Shonda and her team have thought up for this season!
The Player: Thursday Sept. 24th at 10/9c on NBC
Wesley Snipes (Blade) is back with Chairty Wakefield (The Raven) and Philip Winchester (Strike Back) also starring. The show will follow a former intelligence officer turned security expert in Las Vegas who is approached to join Snipes and Wakefield’s team.
The Amazing Race: Friday Sept. 25th at 8/7c on CBS
Phil Keoghan is back as 11 new teams start their race around the world for a $1 million in the shows 27th season!
Once Upon a Time: Sunday Sept. 27th at 8/7c on ABC
OUAT IS BACK! What shenanigans will Dark Swan get up to? What will Rumple do about that and about Belle? Will Regina and Robin Hood get their happy ending? What will happen to Hook without Emma? Merida and King Arthur will be some new faces this season with Mulan returning.
Blood & Oil: Sunday Sept. 27th at 9/8c on ABC
Moving to North Dakota to get in on the biggest oil discovery in history? That’s pretty much the American dream. Chase Crawford (Gossip Girl) and Don Johnson (Miami Vice) star in ABC’s latest prime time soap.
Quantico: Sunday Sept. 27th at 10/9c on ABC
Quantico will follow a group of FBI recruits training in Quantico, Virginia. One of the recruits, after graduating, will be suspected of the biggest attack on America since September 11th. The show will have a "How To Get Away With Murder" mystery feel with a flash forward showing the attack at the beginning.
Be sure to check back for the third week of premieres so you don't miss any of your favorite OGs and more newbies!
