27 Things To Do Instead of Putting Away Your Laundry

I don't know about you guys, but putting away laundry is my least favorite thing to do. I don't even mind washing my clothes, simply just the act of putting everything on hangers or in drawers. Who has the time for that when you could simply pick clean clothes out of the laundry basket all week? Not me that's for sure. Instead of putting away my laundry as soon as it's out of the dryer, I create a long list of other things I "need" to do before I tackle the laundry basket:

1. Clip my finger nails

2. Paint my finger nails

3. Organize my desk

4. Organize every magazine I own by issue date

5. Repaint my nails because I messed them up completing tasks 3 and 4

6. Pluck my eye brows


7. Pick out my outfits for the next 7 days

8. Remove all the clothing from my car

9. Wash my car

10. Drive into town and buy an iced coffee

11. Notice that the car is dirty again, but decide that rewashing it is not going to happen

12. Ask my sister how her day is going

13. Make an elegant meal; aka rice and tofu

14. Spend 30 minutes stalking someone on Facebook

15. Scroll through my twitter feed to catch up on the lives of people I have never met

16. Make a to do list

17. Try to make my cat love me

18. Check my class schedule for next semester for the one thousandth time

19. Attempt to make plans with the three people that live in my town

20. Spend an hour googling that one famous person I heard mentioned last week and learn their entire life story

21. Finally read all those emails that looked interesting but not interesting enough to open when I checked my inbox two weeks ago

22. Go through every single picture on my phone

23. Order sushi.

24. Realize that some where between task 6 and 23 that my nails got chipped

25. Remove all nail polish and give up on having nice nails

26. Leave the house for two hours to drive around aimlessly with my best friend

27. Notice its 11p.m. and tell myself the laundry can wait until tomorrow

Clearly, I'd rather do absolutely anything other than put away my laundry. I'm not sure where my hatred of hanging up clothes came from, but it sure is strong. Currently, there is two weeks worth of clean laundry in my laundry basket as well as in a nice pile on the floor next to it. What can I say besides- crap, my nails are chipped again.
