Just Because I Want A Man In My Life Doesn't Mean I'm Not An Independent Woman
The CW

When we were younger, getting a boyfriend was the ultimate feat and the topic of every single conversation. "Oh my god did he just look at me? We're in love". "He doesn't even notice me. My life is over." While those years seem like they were a century ago, they still happened. Years later, we have matured and realized that not having a man in your life is not the end of the world.

Being single can actually be the greatest thing for you and give you the space you need to complete all of your personal goals and completely dominate your life, making it solely about you and what's best for you.

However, with this newfound strive to be independent women (and men), a stigma has been created. Now, we suffer the opposite of the problem we had in middle school. Now, if a woman complains that she wants a man, the immediate response is "you don't need a man in your life to be happy". Hit the pause button, please.

I know I don't need a man to be happy. That is not what I am saying at all. What I'm saying is, being a boss babe all by myself can get a little lonely sometimes.

Jokes aside, I am serious. Sometimes all you want in life is companionship that is more intimate than simply a friendship. Even when I am spending all of my time focused on my goals and building lasting skills and relationships, I still want a night with a man to cuddle and spend a night happily content and in love.

I don't think you have to only be an independent woman OR be in a loving relationship. You can have both and frankly, I am not about to let anyone deny me the right to love AND personal fulfillment.

I will have my cake and eat it too, thank you.

To all the boss babes (and boss boys) out there, don't let someone deny you the right to love. Sometimes you need someone up there on the pedestal with you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
