Why It's Important To Have A Strong Support Group

Everyone faces challenges in life. That is just the way life is. No one should face these challenges alone. YOU as a person should never feel as though you have to face these obstacles without someone by your side. Having a strong support group in your life is extremely important. It keeps you sane and well without the people in my life I have no idea where I would be. You have to remember that life isn’t going to slow down and you have to move along. When you are feeling that way that is when a good friend or a great supporter comes in handy. When you are feeling stressed it is OK to cry, crying feels good it is a good thing to do every once in a while. When you are having a bad day it is great to know that you have a list of people that you can call to make that bad day better. The people you lean on don’t have to be a close friend group, significant other or family sometimes you find that the best supporters are your coworkers. You spend probably the most time with them anyhow and they know you more than you probably know yourself. I am lucky to have a strong, and large support group. These people aren’t just local they are international (literally) I have no idea what I would do without them all. I find myself sometimes forgetting how lucky I really am to have great people in my life and I am sorry for that. It is good to have people who are willing to listen to you. The people that genuinely care about seeing you happy are the people who you should keep around in your life. Finding your support group won’t always come easy, and it may take years to realize that you have a great group of people in your life but once you find them don’t ever lose them. I am lucky to say that I have my support group that I know I will have for a lifetime. Thank you to every single one of you. You all live all across the globe and it feels so good to know that I can count on you to be there for me. I want you all to know that I am always going to stand by you as well. We will conquer this world together and I am proud of every single one of you. I am so thankful to know I have people who care about me and push me to be the best prototype of myself.

You all know who you are and I love you,

Peace, Love & puppies,

M

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
