If Mayfield Area Bars Were Celebrities

Sorry, there isn't a Beyonce in Mayfield.

If Mayfield Area Bars Were Celebrities

If you are from the Mayfield area, you have probably frequented one, if not all, of these bars. They all have their own unique personalities. Sadly, there isn't a bar that I would compare to Beyonce. But there is a bar to satisfy whatever kind of night you feel like having.

1. Cork 'N Bottle – Adam Sandler

We all have an Adam Sandler movie that we've laughed out loud at. And there are plenty of Adam Sandler movies that are also complete and utter flops. Just like Cork 'N Bottle, he's hit or miss. You think he's fun sometimes, but not always. He's kind of old now, but still trying to have a good time.

2. Fox & Hound – Justin Bieber

Not only will you see men that literally try to act like the above GIF, but this is also where you can go to unleash your inner pop star at their karaoke night. Justin may have a weird mix of personalities (bad boy or puppy dog eyes), but his music is always a go-to. People tend to think he is a lot better than he actually is. Justin also has a loyal following.

3. Panini's – Kim Kardashian

Everyone loves to hate on Kim. Sure, she has no talent, and everyone claims they hate her. But yet every week, they still tune in to her television show. She also rocks the acrylic nails, hoop earrings, and fake tan better than anyone.

4. Firehouse – Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

Firehouse is the bar you and your best friend love to go to together when you're looking for a good time. The outdoor patio is the perfect setting for a chill fun night together or a drunk ass time trying to pick up men. It is what you make it, and you and your best friend always make it fun.

5. Nitros – Lindsay Lohan

She's kind of just gross and irrelevant.

6. Woodroom – Meryl Streep

Meryl is one classy lady and always gets the job done.

7. Mulligan's – Taylor Swift

Mulligan's is your friendly neighborhood bar. Everyone loves it—it's always a good time, and it can be a fun Friday night or a casual family-friendly dinner.

8. Wright Place – Selena Gomez

Selena is awesome. She can do no harm. She would be fun to hit up for a drink. There's nothing really bad to say about her, but she's not your go-to for a crazy Friday night.

9. Harry Buffalo – LeBron James

LeBron is the guy you just want to get together with to throw back a few beers and cheer on your favorite team with.

10. Fox's – Miley Cyrus

Miley is crazy and unpredictable. You never know what version of her you're going to get. She's usually always a good time, but you just don't know if she'll be ready to party like crazy or just super chill.

11. Bar Louie – Kanye West

Kanye thinks he is all that. He thinks he's the best around. But really, he's just arrogant. You still listen to his music once in awhile though.

12. Two Bucks – Snooki

Cheap, gross, and irrelevant.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
