Let's be honest, picking a date is so hard to do, especially during the summer. This is a list of potential date ideas, what you should do, and what you might benefit from each. I know dating is hard, but it doesn't have to be.

Go to the park.

Pack your favorite lunch into a basket. Don't forget a blanket! Walk to a quiet, shady spot (preferably under a tree). Maybe make out or something.

Go to the St. Louis Zoo.

I say St. Louis Zoo solely for the stingray exhibit. Get a margarita in a pineapple. Maybe hold hands but not for too long, because it is always hot. Sweaty palms are not hot.

Go to a baseball game.

No matter what team you're rooting for, try your best to get on the megatron. Maybe grab her boob for everyone to see.

Go to a carnival.

Specifically the Rolla carnival. If you're into the country culture, it's hick heaven. Maybe take a dip of Copenhagen.

Go thrift shopping.

Pick outfits for each other to try on. Take some pictures. Maybe you'll fall in love with their fashion sense.

Go on a road trip.

Grab a map. Close your eyes. Put your finger anywhere on the map. That's where you're going. Never come back and just get hitched. Maybe it was meant to be.

Go to the beach.

If you have money, go to the beach. Build a bonfire, just like on The Last Song. Let her feel like Miley Cyrus with Liam Hemsworth. Maybe you'll fall in love with the exact same way.

Go on a boat ride.

If neither of you has a boat, rent one. Go to the beach or the lake. Stay until you can watch the sunset. Maybe marry her right then and there.

Go to a drive in a movie.

Doesn't matter the movie, just go. Hopefully it's 50 Shades Of Grey, because.... well you know. Maybe let it happen.

Go on a hike.

Get lost in the forest. Get lost in the mountains. Get lost with each other.

Set up an outdoor dinner.

Buy some candles. Go outside and set up a dinner. Dress code: sweatpants and an old t-shirt. Chill without any makeup on. That's when he thinks you'll be the prettiest. Don't take that wrong.

Get Pineapple Whip.

Just go. Don't even think about it. Just go.

Go stargazing.

You can never go wrong with this idea. This gives you a chance to talk about your life goals and dreams. You can find out if they're right for you. Maybe have a sleepover outside.

Go to a music festival.

Go to any music festival. Pick her up and put her on your shoulders. She will fall in love with you. I promise.

Go to the Farmers Market.

Pick her flowers that were locally grown. Who knows, maybe you'll use those same flowers at your wedding.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
