Hot summer nights make great times to grab some ice cream. I know it's one of my favorite things to do at least. Ice cream has always been my weakness, and luckily, over the summer, I have more of an excuse to grab some...and more people that will join compared to mid winter ice cream runs in Greencastle! From personal experience, here's some of the best places to go for ice cream in Indy when your cravings get the best of you--and where you should when.
1. Graeter's
This is my all time personal fave. If you like chocolate chips- go here. Their chocolate is homemade and SO good and the chocolate chips are huge!! Being recently new to the Indy area, Graeter's has opened three locations around the Indy area. Meridian Kessler, Carmel and Fishers all are blessed with this incredible business.
2. Brics
A Broadripple classic. It's located right on the monon and so it's great location is perfect after dinner in the area or wanting to walk on the Monon. There's lots of options to choose from too.
3. Bub's Ice Cream
Now this would be a Carmel classic. Bub's, better known as the place with the disgustingly large cheeseburger, I recently discovered has good ice cream too! And it's located downtown Carmel which is just so cute already. So it's perfect if in the Carmel area or after dinner at Bub's.
4. SubZero
Now this is just about the coolest ice cream you will see. You watch your order right before your eyes be flash frozen with liquid nitrogen. It's honestly worth the money just to watch lol. And this is located downtown Indy on Mass Ave so another cute spot to stop by.
5. Cold Stone Creamery
Although it is a chain, not gonna deny it's still incredible. Especially when you get to customize everything you get to put inside it. Instead of them just throwing your toppings on top, they don't run out once you get to the bottom since they're all mixed in :) And a pro of being a chain- they're located all over!
6. Handel's
One of my favorite things about this place is their sundaes!! Yum yum. Located in Fishers and Carmel!
7. Dairy Queen
Not going to lie, Dairy Queen will always be a popular favorite; This is probably because of their large blizzard varieties. You've got so many options to pick from. There's really no other place that has soft serve ice cream or a place with so many flurry options.
8. Huddles
If you want some frozen yogurt- huddles is the place to go. Not only is it original to Indy with the whole Colts theme, but it is also a low calorie option if you're craving some ice cream but trying to be loyal to your diet. There's still plenty of flavors and it's all soft serve which is nice. It's located on 86th street.
Hopefully with all these options, there will always be a place to fulfill your sweet tooth craving. Or you can make it a goal to try them all by the end of summer- definitely won't disappoint!
