From the moment I met you, I knew we’d click instantly. It was a fight night and I was a Hooters girl, exhausted from the double I worked. You walked through the door and suddenly that tiredness I was feeling went away. I was mesmerized. I was stuck. I didn’t know back then that today we would be here in this very spot. Boy, was it rough getting here, but we did it.
You are now my best friend, my backbone, my person all in one. Our first “date” consisted of Zaxby’s and Southpaw. It wasn't much, but it was enough for me to know in that moment I’d love you forever. You asked me if I could handle dating a Marine because it was a lot of time spent apart. I said yes because deep down I didn't care that your job caused us to be apart most days, I cared about the chance of being yours.
I often look back to that day and a smile still creeps on my face. I must say, we’ve came very far the past few months. We’ve laughed more together than I’ve laughed in the past two years alone. We’ve argued and fought, but we never go to sleep on bad terms. You're the person I tell all my problems, my secrets and deepest fears to. You've shown me that it’s ok to trust, it's ok to love, and it's ok to not have it all figured out.
I look up to you in more ways than you know. The way you carry yourself, your charm, your happy-go-lucky attitude about everything. I love how confident you are in yourself, but also in me. I love that you're a simple man and it doesn’t take much to put a smile on your face. I love how you wake me up in the morning with 100 kisses and how you always put me first.
I also have to say thank you. Thank you for loving me unconditionally every day. You have taught me to be more confident. You put up with my breakdowns, my happy days, and everything in between. You keep me leveled and sane. I know when the whole world is against me, I will have you in my corner always cheering me on. You have shown me what it’s like to be happy in love –– something I've never felt before. You support me and my indecisive ways, even when I change my mind every five seconds.
Most importantly, I want to thank you for being the man of my dreams. For making me fall even more in love with you every day. I know loving a girl like me isn't easy, but somehow you, my love, do.
