One is a natural disaster, the other is the Republican candidate running for the presidency of the United States. Well... if you think that the latter is a natural disaster, that's your call. But anyway, both Hurricane Matthew and Donald Trump had made headlines throughout the past several days for their destruction and antics that they have caused and put them in the spotlight of this week's news.

Let's begin with Hurricane Matthew. The storm formed on September 28th and rapidly formed into a category 5 hurricane on October 1st. Matthew made landfall as a category 4 hurricane on October 4th in Haiti, causing massive devastation and resulted in at least 900 deaths. The town of Jeremie was destroyed as a result of the storms high winds and storm surge. Matthew also caused damage in Jamaica and Cuba and devastated the Bahamas. The storm then hugged the coast of the southeast coast of the United States, bringing massive floodings from Florida to North Carolina.

This was a storm we haven't seen in a long time. It was the first category 5 storm in the Atlantic since 2007. As a huge weather nerd, I needed to follow this storm. No one knew what this storm was going to do and what damage it would cause. After pushing out to sea, we now see what this storm was capable of doing. It brings up the issue of climate change, and how we can better prepare ourselves for hurricanes. We also need to bring relief to Haiti, who took the biggest hit from Matthew.

And now for Donald Trump. Oh, Mr. Trump, what mess have you gotten yourself into this time?

It seems that Trump is in trouble for his comments about a woman in a recording with Billy Bush (from Access Hollywood) back in 2005. Known as "locker room talk", Trump was put on full blast about how he wanted to "grab her by the pussy". And with that, it set off a chain of events that damaged his campaign. Everyone from left to right is condemning Trump for his remarks. And yet, you have those who are still rooting for the man. Donald has since apologized for his remarks, but I feel that this has hurt him a lot. His comments were rude, but in all honesty I couldn't expect anything less from him.

Here's the problem with this election, everyone's dirty laundry has been aired. I'm not the biggest fan of both candidates, but with everything being thrown out there I think "this is the best we came up with for the presidency". In all honesty, I just want this election to be over and done with. Maybe if I close my eyes and dream hard enough, this election will never happen.

How will all of this affect the debate happening tonight? What will be brought up? Who will be the winner? You'll have to watch to find out!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
