How To Stick To Your Workout Plan

We've all abandoned our workouts before, but hopefully no more!

How To Stick To Your Workout Plan
Business Insider

If your looking for a sign to start working out again or for the first time this is it. You've been saying all summer how you are going to start working out. You promised yourself that you are going to consistently go and stick to your plan. Well the day for you to get started is here. How can you make a perfect plan for yourself and stay dedicated all year? We are all busy and sometimes staying in shape falls to the bottom of our priorities but I'm here to tell you there is no need to ditch your plan. With the help of these tips you can stay on top of your workout just like you promised.

1. Buddy System

Having someone to go to the gym with everyday can be extremely helpful! Although, it can be hard finding the right person. You need someone who is going to push you when you are low on motivation as well as someone who is willing to push themselves. It also helps if you both have the same goals and are beginning at the same level that way you can both learn as you go and do similar workouts together.

2. ALWAYS have a plan

Never walk into the gym not knowing what you are there for. Before you head to the gym take some time to establish a goal that you can create a suitable workout plan for. There are many websites, apps, and even workers at your gym that can help you learn what workouts will produce your desired results. This plan will change over time as you tweak it to your liking and you should switch it up every now and then for variety but your workouts will feel a lot more efficient if you set a plan for yourself. Also having a week of workouts already planned out makes it easier to go everyday rather than having to make it up on the spot.

3. Inspiration!

It really helps me push through my workouts if I have someone in mind who I want to be like physically or someone who just motivates me to be better. Whether it be a fitness guru on Instagram, a close friend or family member, or even yourself. You are going to need to have someone in mind that inspires you when you are powering through the end of your workout.

4. Make it happen

Don't think that because you can't make it to the gym one day that you are now excused from your workout. You don't always need the machines, mats, or weights the gym provides. You can quickly get your workout in at home. You may have to modify it a little and move some furniture around but a few floor exercises or a run around your neighborhood is better than nothing at all.

5. Make it your lifestyle

Yes, working out is a key component in getting the body you want or for just becoming healthier but it is not the only important thing. There are other components that make the whole process more enjoyable and successful. Eating healthy foods that will keep you fueled and full, getting proper rest, and drinking tons of water will make your workouts seem less like a daily chore and more like apart of your lifestyle. Your body and mind just won't be in a true workout mood if you eat nothing but junk food and never sleep.

6. Keep in mind

Working out can be very frustrating. Sometimes people give up because they aren't seeing their results quickly enough. You have to remember that progress comes with time and patience. Don't quit two weeks in because you haven't seen any major differences because then all the work you put in will be a waste. Instead push through and stay dedicated and when you do start seeing results you will feel so proud and accomplished.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
