Having a positive outlook during the craziest four years of your life can be one of the hardest things to do when you are stressed with your social life, extracurricular commitments, and schoolwork.
First of all, to maintain a positive outlook you need to take time for yourself, and your mental and emotional health. Surround yourself with positive people. People who make you better, and generally care about your well-being. Get yourself busy. Do what makes you happy, and be yourself. Don't let fear hold you back from doing what you want. If you run into a bridge that you can't easily cross, don't give up so quickly! Breath and refocus yourself. There is no need for you dwell on the negative situations, but to look at the positives in every negative situation when they happen.
College is a tough time, you have to manage your workload, but also keep in touch with your friends, and take care of yourself. It's all about managing your time in all the right ways and putting your time into things that positively affect your life. Admit it, we all make mistakes every moment of the day and we aren't perfect, but don't let that bring you down. You were uniquely made for a purpose. The key aspect in staying positive is finding ways to get rid of your stress, and reminding yourself every day of your worth and your purpose. Writing down goals and dreams really can help a lot, too. This will keep you motivated and keep your mind out of the dark places. Knowing that you can do whatever you put your mind to if you give the effort and put yourself out there is beyond important.
I don't want to bring you down, right now, but understand that in these steps of your life you have to go in head first. Things won't be done for you anymore, and it's 100 percent okay to make mistakes and sometimes be wrong instead of right. If something doesn't work out, know it wasn't meant to be because if it had been, it would've happened.
If it means venting to your best friend or talking to someone that will listen, it's worth the time. Give time and effort to things you care about, I promise it'll pay off in the end. The years you spend in college are supposed to be some of the best years in your life. You grow and learn and you don't always have to have a plan. Don't think you deserve less than what you are capable of achieving.
Hopefully, you'll learn something new every day. Try to look at situations with the mindset that Hey, I'll be okay. I'll get it next time, or It wasn't meant to be, and you'll find yourself less stressed. Trying to be as positive as you can to those around you can also affect your life. Often times what you give to others in a sense of your time will come back around. Ever heard of, what goes around comes around?
Being a good friend, listening, or just generally making someone's day has a big effect on how you treat and think about yourself. Spread kindness and kindness will be brought back to your life. Lastly, just have fun with life. Joke around and be yourself. No one is stopping you. Start your day with something that will put you in a positive mood. Maybe it's a favorite song that gets you moving. Your life deserves to be enjoyable and exciting. Be spontaneous, be crazy, be you. You got this.
