"You get in life what you have the courage to ask for" -Oprah Winfrey

What if I told you that you could get everything that you wanted in your life with a few simple steps? Would it actually be possible to attract everything that you wanted in life? Yes, it is. With a few simple practices and an open mind, you can achieve happiness.

1. "Ask, Believe, Receive"

It's as simple as these three words. You have to ask the universe for what you want -- be as specific or as broad as you want! The next step is to believe that you already have it. Envision that perfect GPA, relationship, body, article of clothing, whatever -- it's practically yours. After you've sent the positivity into the world, get ready to receive. You see, you mindset works like radio stations -- you tune into the station that you want at the turn of a knob. In this case your mind is the knob and, if you tune into positivity, you'll only receive positivity.

2. Make a vision board.

This may seem cliché, but by having everything that you want in one space, it's easy to attract what you want into your life. The fun part is actually getting creative and making it. Look on Pinterest for creative ideas.

3. Realize that you're good enough--confidence is key.

This is quite difficult at times, but you need to learn how to love yourself. Positivity attracts positivity, and self-love is one of the first ways to attract positivity. Have you ever noticed that people crowd a specific few people at parties? That's because they love themselves and send out positivity to others. People want positivity in their lives and will go to what's emitting positive vibes.

4. Know when something is toxic.

Letting go of a habit, person or thing can be difficult. Breaking habits is tough, but you need to know when to let go. If someone or something is dragging you down then you need to understand that they may be doing more harm than good.

5. Appreciate the beauty in everything.

Take a moment to relax and enjoy your surroundings. There's so much to be thankful for, yet sometimes we're consumed with stress and anxiety. Take a breath and just take a walk outside. Put the phone down and actually look around. You woke up this morning for a reason -- why not revel in the blessings that you have in your life?

6. Understand that everything is temporary.

Even in the roughest of times you know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Things will go up and, sometimes, you need to hit rock bottom to realize that. You will get better from whatever has you down. This is also applicable to positive feelings and I recommend appreciating that time of happiness.

7. Make lists of positivity.

This is one of my favorite ways to get back on track. Whenever I'm feeling down I choose to focus on the positivity that I have in my life. I make lists about all of the reasons that I'm thankful and then really focus my mind on that. "Yes, I have three papers coming up and that stresses me out, but I have the loving support of my friends and family to help me."

8. Curate positive playlists.

This is the quickest way to curb my mood. Spotify has become the love of my life and I have different playlists for different moods -- mostly positive. The best way to think positive thoughts is by listening to music that brings back good memories.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
