You probably shouldn't wait until the week before spring break to try and lose the five or ten extra pounds you've been trying to shed since last fall. A) that's not healthy to lose that much weight that quickly and B) you'll likely fail. Sorry.
Weightloss and toning are hardwork and require a lot of discipline and motivation. If you're one of those people trying to lose a few extra pounds to look super hot on spring break, you should probably start now. There's no better time than the present. Here are just a few tips to get your spring break bod.
1. Don't eat late at night. Trust me, I know it's hard with your crazy schedule and you feel like that's the only opportunity you have to eat. Usually when you eat late though you're likely spending money, eating unhealthy and staying up late, all which are bad for you and your health. You wanna save that cash for spring break, eat healthy because abs are made in the kitchen, and get plenty of sleep!
2. Do cardio AND strength training. Don't just do one or the other. Have a good balance of both so that you're burning a ton of calories while also getting stronger and toning up!
3. Cut out sugar. I know, it's Girl Scout Cookie season and you want all of those cute girly drinks but in order to see those washboard abs that are waiting to come out you need to cut out these sugars, especially liquid calories like pop or alcohol.
4. Drink tons of water. Water is so good for you and helps cleanse your body. There are so many pros to it so always have a water bottle handy and try to drink at least half your weight in ounces per day.
5. More fruits and veggies, less carbs and starches. Sometimes it's hard in college to eat healthy but just remember when you're grabbing dinner that it's better to have color when losing weight than butter. This will make you feel better too!
6. Eliminate alcohol. I know, hard, impossible, no way. But it'll pay off, I promise! You'll be surprised about the results and it'll be that much sweeter when you have a drink in hand beachside.
Keep yourself accountable and don't give up! It can be hard to find the time to eat healthy and workout, but if you want it bad enough, it's worth it. Just do it!
