We’re nearing the home stretch before we head off to our exciting vacations or relaxing times at home for Spring Break. It’s important to stay healthy in order to survive in the midst of this hell week of papers, tests, and last minute assignments.
Here are a few of my favorite easy and effective ways to stay on top of your health even when you’re unbearably busy:
1. Get active!
It’s important to get exercise, especially when we are busy and stressed!! Even a quick walk or relaxing yoga class can be helpful for our overall well-being and health. Whether we’re at the Miller Center or at a convenient off-campus location, any activity is good! Two great choices to try are Paz Yoga Boutique or Pure Barre Reynolda Village.
2. Eat your veggies
Although we may find it difficult to find a healthy option here on campus, I promise it is possible! If we hit the Benson Salad Bar at the right time, it’s easy to get a quick and healthy choice on the go -- that
3. Take your vitamins
The flu and the common cold have not completely left Winston-Salem, and we should be trying to give our bodies as many nutrients as we can. Taking that extra Emergen-C or double dose of Vitamin C this week could really make the difference.
4. Sleep!
With the possibility of an all-nighter, its hard to make time for sleep with our busy schedules here at Wake. Too stressed to sleep? Try and take a melatonin, a natural sleep aid that will leave you waking up refreshed and ready to take on the day! Power naps are also great to boost your energy during the day — but don’t nap for too long (it can make you even more tired!)
5. Drink up!
My new favorite way to stay healthy is our newly discovered local juicer! Village Juice Company, owned and operated in
From Green Juices to Nut Milks, everyone can find a delicious drink that works for them! Enjoy!!
