How Great A 29 Game Win Streak In Football Really Is

"It was just luck", "FSU just played really bad teams, that is why they keep winning", "The refs made such bad calls, once again FSU barely survives", they say. Excuse after excuse, people try and come up with blissfully ignorant assumptions on just how FSU dominated college football.

FSU prevailed undefeated for two straight regular seasons, raking in last years honorable National Championship title and proving everyone wrong when FSU defeated Georgia Tech securing their third place ranking and advancing themselves to the Rose Bowl playoff game against Oregon.

FSU football was really good at giving us fans quite a bit of anxiety during the close games this season. I'm pretty sure a few times I was actually about to have heart failure from my overwhelming nerves, but as FSU fans, we never gave up hope. Because lately, losing just had not been a part of our nature. FSU would some how always pull through with that win and settle our nerves.

It's no question that the media instigates the FSU hatred from non-fans. An example of this is when ESPN highlighted the fact that some of the FSU team didn't go out to the field to shake hands with Oregon after their loss in the Rose Bowl. But you didn't hear ESPN complaining when Alabama did the exact same thing after losing to Ohio State.

So despite all the media backlash after we lost the game to Oregon (a great, deserving team this year) I remembered just how awesome it actually is that I get to say MY school's football team won 29 games in a row while I was a student. So what we didn't win another National Championship, we came awfully damn close and I couldn't be more proud of our boys for all they did this season.

So instead of focusing on that final loss, how about focusing on all the wins we did get? FSU made history these past two seasons making its way on to the infamous winning streak chart in the College Football Hall of Fame. The day after the Rose Bowl loss someone at the grocery store saw my FSU shirt and instantly said, "Ahh bad day to be a FSU fan…sorry about that!" But that got me to thinking, there actually is no bad day to be an FSU fan because we go to the greatest school in the nation and we have an amazing football team win or lose, and school spirit like no other university.

Winning 29 games in a row is not luck, nobody can have that much luck to defeat all of those teams in a row. Yes we can relish in our sadness that we finally did lose, but the time had to come eventually and our season was nothing to be ashamed of. So let FSU haters on social media continue to gloat in our defeat, but they should just know we still won 29 football games and that gives nobody an excuse to try and discredit our talented football team.

Look out for FSU next year because even though our winning streak was interrupted, with our school spirit and talented team, just about anything is possible. Our next huge win streak is in the making, just wait.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
