Mountains have this crazy way of being intimidating yet welcoming at the same time. Being little the mountains were the biggest thing ever, I felt that it always took forever to get to the top of a mountain. Whether it be in a car or on a horse, to me it became an endless journey and felt like a slow crawl just to see the top in view. Then, once on top, it was as if I could see the whole world. I was able to see for miles and miles and I felt that the top of the mountain was normal for everyone everywhere. I did't know any better and I felt that everyone was able to be surrounded by the mountains like I was.
All my life I have been surrounded by mountains. Every stage that I have been though, these mountains around me have have shaped me into the person that I am today. Though the winding road that I took everyday to school and the trail that we move cows up, these mountains have seen every bit of my life. And for that I could not be more thankful for where I call home.
Mountains are the cure to everything. Whether it be a need for wanderlust or just somewhere to diaper, being somewhere in the mountains will be the remedy. To be able to see just how much land there is from a mountain top is to be able to see just how great this world truly is. The vast lands below is able to show just how different every area is and how they all work together. How calm the land is and how little there is in between it all. Mountains are the best way to escape from the crazy of society and just realize how great our land truly is.
Growing up and getting older I started to take the mountains for granted. Traveling around the nation, seeing different places the mountains became too normal to be around. I felt that I was in the mountains for too long and that I need to leave them and not look back. However, I couldn't have been any more wrong. The mountains are where I am supposed to be. I was made be up in elevation and to be able to see the world from the summit of these mountains. I was born to be apart of this simplicity that the mountains have and see the world from this angle. Even though it may be in the middle of nowhere, and you may feel disconnected from media, this is where you are able to truly find yourself and explore. Get out, get lost, and get found in the mountains.
