So after about a year of campaigning, debating, drop outs and Twitter feuds, America has spoken, or the super delegates or however that works. Anyway, all the extremely qualified and dare I say, normal people dropped out and now we are stuck with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Of course I am not suggesting that Lincoln Chafee or Mike Huckabee are normal but, you know. A lot of people, myself included, are frustrated that Clinton and Trump are the two choices remaining this November. They feel like both candidates are pretty awful and are generally unlikable. Of course these candidate's loyal followers would beg to differ.
So if you're a pretty normal person, a #NeverTrump Conservative, or a #NeverHillary Democrat, let's look at the pros and cons of each candidate and who YOU should vote for. Disclaimer:
No, I am not telling you who to vote for. In fact just the exact opposite, you make that decision all on your own. This is an article mostly for entertainment purposes. Please also note the pros will be very short for each one.
Hillary Clinton Pros
She is not Donald Trump. Rodham is a decent maiden name. It took me five minutes just to come up with the second one. Also, Kate McKinnon does a great impression of her, so if she's elected we get more Clinton satire at least.
Hillary Clinton Cons
She is solely responsible for Benghazi, yet hardly seems to care, and lied to the families of the Marines involved. Lying is a theme you'll see often here. She is currently under investigation by the FBI and that is truly historical. If she wants to play the history-making card. She is out of touch. (i.e. Just chillin' in Cedar Rapids.) She either thinks she's funny or is that stupid. For example, "Did you wipe your e-mail server?" "What, with a cloth or something?" She is Hillary Clinton.
Donald Trump Pros
He is not Hillary Clinton. He manages to sing the theme song from Green Acres pretty well.
Donald Trump Cons
His Twitter is like if your drunk uncle was given a Twitter but given way over a million followers and didn't know how to retweet. He has switched from Liberal to Conservative multiple times with no explanation. Primary example is when he went from wanting all guns to be banned to being an average everyday gun toting, New York billionaire. He is just a little racist. Let's not forget the taco bowl admiration on Cinco de Mayo. He is just a little sexist. Maybe Megyn Kelly really is a "bimbo." He thinks his daughter has a great body. That's just weird. But at least he isn't an any real trouble right? Oh yeah, I almost forgot Trump University.
Anyway, as Election Day 2016 approaches, you have the choice as an American to choose either between Cobra Commander or Darth Vader, an Independent (which will ultimately lead to the aforementioned candidates gaining votes) or write in a name. Either way, just don't sit at home come November. Sure it will suck choosing the most tolerable between our modern day Voldemort and Skeletor, but if you don't vote, you can't complain about who becomes elected. Because you have the right to choose come November. Who will you pick? Sure this election will be looked back on in fifty years as laughable and probably embarrassing, but the stakes are pretty high. I'm Christian Nichols and I'm asking for your vote.
