In my opinion, if Hillary Clinton had a squad I believe that it would be filled with some of the most bad ass women in America. Women that are strong, aren't afraid to back away from a challenge, yet so full of love for those around them. I believe her squad would be full of diversity and women from different backgrounds and experiences. So if Hillary was to have a squad, here's who I think would make the cut:
Ruth Gader Ginsburg
The Associate Justice for the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Before taking her oath of office she spent part of her career as an advocate for the advancement of women's rights. She was a volunteer lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union as well as being a member of its board of directors and one of its general counsel. She was a professor at Rutgers School of Law and Columbia Law School. She was also appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit by Jimmy Carter. Notorious R.B.G., y'all.
Beyonce
Beyonce has been killing the game since the late 1990's when she started out in the all-girl group, Destiny's Child. Later in her career, she decided to go forward as a solo performer. While also being the queen of the music scene, she's also quite the philanthropist. She has given back to Hurricane Katrina survivors, the Hope for Haiti Now earthquake fund, and also joined forced with Michelle Obama to help boost the campaign about child obesity. That's not even everything. Queen, Beyonce - the same thing right?
Oprah
Started from the bottom, now she's here.. literally. An American "Queen of All Media" talk show host, producer, actress, and philanthropist all in one human. Her talk show was the highest-rated television program of its kind in history. She was later rated the richest African-American of the 20th century, the greatest African-American philanthropist in American history, and was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama. Oh, and she has honorary doctorate degrees from Duke and Harvard.
Amy Schumer
The American stand-up comedian, writer, actress, and producer who is also a creator, co-producer, co-writer, and star. While also being one of the hilarious humans on the planet, Schumer was also named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people and also named onto Barbara Waleters' 10 Most fascinating People list. She's received praise for the feminism of her comedy and her clever ability to address social issues. In 2015, she began creating skits in Inside Amy Schumer that involved several ideas regarding sex, feminism, and rape culture. Girl power, ladies.
Kerry Washington
An actor who has been nominated not once but twice for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series for her role as Olivia Pope in ABC's Scandal. While also being a badass on the screen, she as also included on Time magazine's Time 100 list. In her free time, she's an avid activist in several organizations. She was named an honorary chairperson of the GLSEN Respect Awards and received the GLAAD Vanguard Award. While also being a member of the Creative Coalition and V-Day. Gladiator in a suit, babe.
Shonda Rhimes
A television producer and writer, head writer, executive producer, and a show runner. Shonda Rhimes is the woman we love to hate due to her amazing work in our favorite shows, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, How to Get Away with Murder, and Scandal. In her spare time from writing and producing she was named one of Time magazine's 100 People Who Help Shape The World. She runs her own production company called ShondaLand with the logo that she also created all on her own. When she's not breaking our hearts via our favorite shows she also does TedTalks throughout the country.
