Dear High School Senior,
I thought this would be a good time to write a letter to you coming from a sophomore in college.
First of all, I know everyone keeps telling you this probably over and over again but enjoy every minute of High School because time flies and it goes by insanely fast. As it is crazy to think, one year from now next year, you will be somewhere in college. Yes, I said it. COLLEGE. You will be making new friends, be in a new area, a new state perhaps and will be joining a bunch of clubs and organizations on campus (if you please). Honestly though, not going to lie as much as I love college, I look back on all the memories from High School and sometimes wish I was still there. (not really just once in a blue moon lol). I probably have hundreds of pictures (maybe a thousand... or more pictures in High School).
All I can say is enjoy every High School football game, soccer game and tennis match against your schools rival. The time you have spent in High School goes by wicked (yes I said wicked thanks to all you New England friends) so make every memory count.
Be annoying and take as many pictures as you can. High School only comes only one time in your life just like college, so make every moment count. I was that annoying person who took way too many pics in High School...but now that I look back on it, I'm glad I did. With all the social media these days I bet everyone can take a bunch of pictures and upload it to Snapchat, Vsco, Insta, Facebook, Twitter...whatever you get the picture.
Do NOT take advantage of your home cooked meals, shower, and room. I miss sleeping in my huge bed and I know you will too. As weird as this may sound, take long hot showers because the showers at school are probably nice the nicest (and you have to wear shower shoes which SUCKS). Eat and savor those yummy lasagna dinners, taco nights and apple pies because college food is not good... at all.
Save every college acceptance, rejected, scholarship grants, college essays and such because you're going to want to look back on them just like I do. I know the college process is hard with ACT and SAT (we all had to take them), but honestly, looking back it is definitely interesting to see who the person you were in high school to the person you have become today.
Needless to say, make the most of prom, after prom, graduation, project graduation, college t-shirt day, senior skip day, driving to school with your top down and blasting music like the cool older senior that you are, having professors that really do care about you, senior class trips, being the oldest and letting your parents give you money for most things (because now in college sadly you become a poor broke college student).
Anyways. Live it up. Laugh it off and love each day like it's your last.
