High school was an amazing four years that went by way too fast. There is not much that I miss about it besides certain teachers, but the one thing I miss the most was being an athlete. I have been in college for three years now and to this day I still consider myself to be a washed-up high school athlete. So for all you out there who feel the same, this one is for you.
1. You constantly think about how badly you miss being an athlete
2. You live out your unfulfilled career through intramural/club sports
3. You realize how out of shape you have become
4. You still wear your letterman jacket/team apparel
5. You feel lost not playing a sport
6. Any time you play your sport again, you feel "rusty"
7. You become out of breath from climbing a flight of stairs
8. You miss being apart of a team
9. You always post throwback pictures from your glory days as an athlete
10. You no longer eat like an athlete
11. You realize you are not as good/fast as you used to be
12. You are jealous of people who are still athletes
13. You would never trade the memories you made as a high school athlete for the world
So yes, my days as a high school athlete are long gone, and I am not afraid to admit that I really am a washed-up athlete. But even though my career is over, I still have the amazing memories I made.
