What exactly is Flibanserin?
Flibanserin (Generic Addyi) is a medication used to treat premenopausal women who have hypoactive sexual desire disorder, or HSDD. It contains a 5-HT receptor modulator, which aids in the treatment of patients suffering from acquired and generalized HSDD.
The FDA approved this pill in 2015, allowing premenopausal women to receive proper treatment for hypoactive sexual desire disorder. Did you know that during early trials, this drug could be used in place of an antidepressant? However, after a few more trials and modifications, it was determined to be the best treatment for hypoactive sexual disorder.
