Throughout the course of our history, especially regarding the recent events that have taken place in Orlando, there have been countless violent acts that have affected millions of innocent individuals. From mass shootings to terrorist bombings, our world has witnessed far too much violence and has endured too much pain. Due to all of the terrible events that have been occurring, it has become terrifyingly easy to say comments such as, "I hate people," and, "This world is cruel." How heartbreaking is it to know that so many humans have lost faith in their own race? How can we believe that there are still moral people in the world when those that are corrupt ruin our idea of that? After witnessing so much evil and suffering, it seems nearly impossible to remind ourselves that the whole world isn't malicious. However, it is important that we do. In a world that houses a lot of hate, it is essential to remember that there is even more love.

Yes, there are crazy people in this world and unfortunately, there is no way this will ever change. There will always be tragedies that take place and innocent people that will evidently be harmed from them. However, the presence of evil people does not take away from the fact that there are still wonderful people as well. There are individuals that kill people for no reason, but there are also people that do anything and everything to help. There are working mothers that take time out of their busy schedules to prepare meals for the homeless. There are children that ask their parents to buy toys not for themselves, but for other children who cannot afford them. There are soldiers who are so selfless that they voluntarily risk their lives to ensure our safety. There are so many extraordinary people that are taking all of the right actions to make this world a better place. It is difficult to reveal the beauty that makes up our world when it is undermined by all of the negative events that occur. However, there are countless of wonderful people that do their best in order to do so.

Anne Frank, a figure in our history who understood the bounds of suffering, once said, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." Knowing that an individual like her, who had endured so much pain and experienced so many hardships and terrifying circumstances, could continue to see how wonderful humanity is, gives me hope that other people will continue to as well.

Despite how difficult it may seem to believe at times, the world is a beautiful place filled with even more beautiful people.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
