Happy September! That means fall is right around the corner, but do you know what else that means? It means we have officially begun Self Awareness Month. Now I’m sure many of you might be wondering what that just might be, so here I am to inform you of something that I truly believe should be brought to the public’s attention.
This month is about bringing our attention to ourselves and taking those first steps forward towards self-acceptance. We as people don’t usually tend to see ourselves in the same positive light our peers view us in. We tend to focus in on our negatives, instead of embracing our positives. This month is about taking the time to love ourselves. To see how we are all beautiful individuals who have a purpose in this big world of ours. There are so many people that fail to see how wonderful they are, and that is why we have this perfect month.
This is a time to learn about yourself. To realize what you are good at, and what you might not be good at. To find your flaws, and happily accept them for what they are. It’s a time to realize you need to stop judging yourself so harshly, and come to self-acceptance. Acceptance is an essence in love, and we cannot truly love ourselves without accepting our self-first. Self-awareness can lead to awareness of others, and the cycle of caring continues. This means by becoming self-aware you are not only creating something positive for yourself, but also the people that surround your life. This month is a unique opportunity to explore who we are which will naturally bring upon self-improvement.
The main reason I want to make this month known is that I believe everyone deserves to feel good about themselves. No one deserves to carry the burden of self doubt, and low self esteem. We are all beautiful individuals who have so much to offer, but some of us fail to see that. If you decided not to participate in this month, that's okay, but the least you can do is pass along this wonderful message. You never know who you might effected by doing so.
