The Search For Happiness In Life
Wikipedia
"The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes. If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it."

When was the last time you saw something so beautiful that you cried? It could have been a breathtaking view or a true act of kindness, even maybe seeing a loved one being born into this world, or just even having the best day ever. Luckily for me I was able to experience true happiness just last weekend, but unfortunately for some these moments only come around once in a lifetime.

Today's youth tend to take life for granted. Kids and teens today are so obsessed and infatuated with social media and technology that they tend to miss what is going on in the world around them. Life is so beautiful you just have to want to see it for what it really is. Acts of kindness today are looked at as normal or acts people are "suppose" to do. Like holding the door for someone or pulling out a chair, but in all reality these kind gestures are some of the things that make life beautiful.

Once a person experiences that true moment of happiness, nothing else will feel the same. You will look for happiness in everything and start to realize that the beauty of life will start to be what makes you the happiest. Helping others and making others happy are what makes life so beautiful. Social media cannot truly depict random acts of kindness or pure happiness. Social media cannot truly show you the moment where a person cries because they are so happy. These little life moments are the moments people should live for.

Every life is so unique and so special that I cannot seem to understand why it tends to be taken for granted so much. People today stress about the smallest things, like what to wear on a date, what to eat for dinner, what grade they got on a test, etc. Stop stressing about things so little and start seeing the beauty of life. Start finding happiness in your families and friends, start to appreciate what really matters in life. Ten years from now you aren't going to remember that bad chemistry test or the spaghetti you had that one random night. Instead, you are going to remember the fun time you had goofing off with your friends while you all were supposed to be studying or you will remember the noodle fight you had with your little brother and made that huge mess.

Life is about finding these moments of happiness and holding onto them. So many people find life and happiness in the smallest of things, so even if you think you are truly unhappy something will come around and show you that there is happiness out there and it will find you.

My advice to you comes from a quote from Pablo Picasso, "The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." Find your gift, find how you can make someone else in this huge world truly happy. Seeing someone cry because of happiness or crying yourself is a truly life changing moment. Search for your gift, put down the cell phone or the computer, put down the book even, and go out and make someone happy. This life is so short and leaves us so fast, why waste away your days being sad or even just being content with your life? Go make a difference in someone's life, and trust me when you do they will remember that moment forever.

"Life is short. Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, and Never regret anything that makes you smile."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
