As if I have not posted it enough on social media; here I go again: I WAS ACCEPTED INTO THE DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM!! I am still pinching myself trying to wake up from this dream, but it is real. I could not be happier to be moving to Orlando from January-August next year and be living in Walt Disney World. I received an e-mail during my class and I began to cry because I was so happy.

For those who are unaware of DCP, it is a paid internship at either Walt Disney World or Disneyland where you work for the company and can earn college credits by taking classes at Disney University. You can always take online classes from your college which is what I am doing, but if you are in communications, business, hospitality, tourism, etc, they have wonderful classes for you to take. Who wouldn't want to have working for the Walt Disney Company on their resume? It is an absolute eye-catcher to employers. Did I mention that I can go into the parks at no cost on my days off (and discounts on merch and food/beverages)?!

I was very nervous that I would not get in because the program has a 15% acceptance rate, but my cousin, who will also be going next year, kept my hopes up. I am oh so happy to have her there so that I'm not entirely with total strangers. I will however be living in a dorm with girls from around the world which is exciting.

So you may ask what I am doing there for work, and I am here to tell you that I am going to be working in Housekeeping for one of the resorts. I am very excited as my Grandfather was in the hotel business, so it would be a great tribute to him and his work. I also come from a Disney family who has been to quite a few of the resorts whether we stayed there or not. I have to wait until I arrive in January to find out what resort I am working in.

For the past week, I have constantly been listening to Disney soundtracks on YouTube & Spotify and have been watching DCP vlogs. I am extremely eager to arrive to one of my favorite places in the world. If you saw my history on my computer you would think that I am a Disney addict. Well, I mean, I may be, but who cares?

I plan on blogging and taking thousands of pictures while I am there for sure. I never want to forget the memories and family that I meet there. I am also in the midst of creating a Disney bucket list, so stay tuned for that! Of course, I will be missing my family and friends, but they are all happy for me.

Applications are still live, so if you want your dreams to come true, simply apply on the DCP website. I didn't believe that I would even get in, and I got in two days after my phone interview. All you need is faith, trust, & pixie dust.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
