Is Glamglow Worth it?
GLAMGLOW

So, the beauty world has been raving about Glamglow masks as of late and I am not going to lie, they are appealing. Anything that gets such high reviews will immediately grab my attention. And any mask with such a hefty price-tag ($69 for a 1.7oz jar) is going to garner a certain amount of buzz regardless of whether or not it works. But guess what? It does. So... well... I almost wish it didn't because its so darn pricey.

I purchased the smaller size of the Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment mask ($22 for a 0.5oz jar) from Sephora. Because you need so little of this mask, that jar can go a long way. Even for someone like me, that uses it so often.

Let me give you a rundown of my skin, okay? I am pale as bones and just as dry. My skin often borders on dehydrated, actually. Hydrogel masks, moisture packs, intensive repair treatments... that stuff is my jam. I use the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense moisturizer not once, but TWICE daily. And I use Bio-Oil mixed in. Because I need as much moisturizing power as I can get. For a primer, I use the Hangover Replenishing Face Primed from Too Faced, which is a very fresh, hydrating primer infused with coconut water. And, for the foundation, I usually stick to BB creams or dewy formulas as they provide more hydration.

I have only used the mask for a week, but my skin feels so incredibly soft and I am seeing serious improvements in texture and elasticity. Actually, I use it more as a night treatment than a mask. I take a very, very small amount and I spread it all over my face and sleep in it, and I wake up with beautifully moisturized, soft skin. It's pretty amazing.

And can we please talk about the smell? Oh, my word. It smells like fresh coconuts. It's so refreshing and yummy and enjoyable to put on and I borderline want to eat it. Overall, the Glamglow experience is pretty darn pleasant.

So, my final reviews? Yes. This mask is worth the splurge. But, get the $22 jar first and see how your skin reacts. If you love it beyond words, if you notice your skin looks like angel skin afterward, splurge. Don't buy those new shoes or go out as much. Invest in your skin. You are stuck with it your whole life, so it's important you take good care of it. Glamglow for me is already becoming a skincare staple and the results are undeniable, even to those of us that would prefer to keep our wallets closed. However, I would really only consider purchasing if you have a chronic skin issue, like acne or dehydrated skin or if you want to fight signs of aging like fine lines. If it doesn't solve a problem that's a major skin issue, skip it. Because it is a pretty hefty price.

I am excited to try other treatment masks from Glamglow like their clarifying mask for those hormonal breakouts. I have heard that as a spot treatment, as well as a preventative measure, it's a great weapon to have in your anti-acne arsenal. I just haven't made that purchase yet because... you know...

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
