Congrats man! You get to have a few more guy nights, poker, cigars, greasy foods and loud music. You're going to be excited for the first two weeks, because there's a little more free time and no more trips to the make up store to get the "latest face mask." Trust me -- I know how you feel. It's torture. And the one time you take her fishing? Let's just say that's why you have a fish hook shaped scar in your leg. While she is gone, you're gonna save literally thousands of dollars. You can go buy a boat to go fishing, and not fear another scar.
All fun aside, you are gonna miss your girl. So, you're gonna FaceTime, Skype, email, text, call, and send letters. Distance is a hard test, and if you try in the relationship it is worth it. It's also worth it that you try to make small dates happen through the phone -- you make dinner enough for two, like steaks and her favorite stuff. Make sure she's eating something like a sad excuse for a sandwich, and tell her (hee hee) I miss you I have all the extra food left over! But hey I'll just have to eat it all! (It's worth the extra calories, carbs or pounds just to mess with her.)
Try to be cute -- send her shirts or sweaters that you know she loves (and by loves, I mean she hates like a rival sorority shirt). Long distance needs to have a lot of humor in it. Always keep her updated if she's the jealous type with snapchat and texts. Show her that you miss her, but don't show her your bar tab, all the stuff you bought for your brothers, or the stuff you bought trying to be a good wing man for a bro.
Your girlfriend comes first. So, try to be helpful when she needs you. I know for a fact email is a very emotional way to communicate. Understand that she has a life going on at the new school or state she's in. Don't be that crazy boyfriend calling or texting every minute, but if she hasn't answered after three days and her parents haven't heard from her... call the police. That my friend is a missing persons case.
My girlfriend is going off to Florida for a semester. She's so excited, and I am too. I'm excited, because I'm going to save so much money! All jokes aside, I am going to miss her. However, time apart is just gonna make us stronger together as a couple. When she comes back, I'll have so much money saved up to take her out on an amazing date, and maybe buy a few Kendra's for her. Relationships are hard, and long distance is hard, but if you love the person it is worth it. Also, jokes make the time go by faster, and it's fun to mess with her.
