To The Girl Who Asked For Help On A Barnes & Noble Bathroom Stall

If strangers can care so much for a random person they don't know, imagine how much your loved ones care for you.

Barnes & Noble definitely makes it to the list of my favorite places.

I love everything about it, from the smell of new books and brewed coffee to the little trinkets to the calming atmosphere. My friend and I found this scribbled inside the door of one of the bookstore's bathroom stalls. Whether you're going through a hard time or know someone who is, send them this as a reminder that they are loved and thought of; if strangers can care so much for a random person they don't know imagine how much your loved ones care for you.

It read, "I hate my life. I'm getting all the help I can. Everyone thinks I'm OK now. But I'm not. Reasons to Live?"

And collectively, people created this list:

1. Barnes and Noble! Add to the list!

2. You're Beautiful!

3. You have a special place in the world

4. Things will get better. I will pray for you

5. You are LOVED

6. We all go through ups and downs (it's only human nature). Never give up!

7. You are more loved than you know

8. Tomorrow is a new day. You never know what good is still in store for you. Best Wishes

9. What a difference a day makes!

10. This too shall pass

11. Puppies

12. Chocolate

13. You're strong. If you're still here that takes a lot

14. Loving people and family members

15. You're more resilient than you think. It's amazing how life can change. Talk to yr ppl!

And my addition...

16. The beauty of the unknown and what's to come.

Life can get really hard; especially right now with school starting again and term bills to pay and exams to study for, I hope you remember this. No matter what is to come, you can handle it. Think of all the things in your life that you felt were too difficult and never thought you could overcome. But you got through it, and here you are.

So to the girl who wrote that in my Barnes & Noble, if you're reading this, I hope you find joy in your beautiful life and know that you mean something to people, and you mean something to me.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
