Get To Know Us: Caroline Eaker

Remember those teachers that make you stand up and say things about yourself on the first day of class? Everyone sits in their desk, sweat dripping down your face , and you can just feel your face turning bright red. Then all of a sudden, it is your turn and every single bit of knowledge you had is gone, even remembering your name is impossible. Well, that was never me. Actually I am the complete opposite, I have always enjoyed having all eyes on me. This love for being the center of attention helped me decide that I wanted to go into broadcasting that then led me to chose journalism as my major, which helped me find my love for writing. Now that everyone knows the most important thing about me, let me tell you 15 facts about myself that made me the diva I am today.

1) I was born and raised in Augusta Ga (yes, I have been to The Masters)

2) I am in my third year at Georgia Southern studying journalism and PR.

3) I was a competitive gymnast from the age of 7 to 16 and I spent more hours at the gym then my actual home

4) I was on the GSU all girl cheer leading team for two years and also won two national championships while on this team.

5) I am now on the GSU equestrian team

6) My favorite movie is "Gone With The Wind"

7) I was the 2015 GSU homecoming Duchess

8)I am a member of Zeta Tau Alpha

9) I have a weird obsession with investigative podcasts. If you have not listened to Serial, you are seriously missing out.

10) I once competed in a bikini competition

11) My favorite book is anything written by Jodi Picoult or South Of Broad by Pat Conroy

12) I have a legit fear of bananas.

13) I am convinced I am adopted (i'm not) because I look absolutely nothing like anyone in my family.

14) I am friends with some of the greatest ( and best dressed) people in the world.

15) One time I was Tricia Miller from Orange is the New Black for Halloween.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
