1. No time is wasted time as long as you are doing something you love.
-Find/recapture your passion and exploit the heck out of it. Nothing beats the blues better than doing what you love. We get caught up in the trees sometimes and forget to see the forest as whole. The passion tree is key.
2. You call the shots.
-At any moment you can drop everything and
3. Challenge yourself.
-Whether it’s setting your alarm earlier, or
4. Get in touch with nature.
-But Netflix is better on the couch, I know guys. But when your Sim’s character gets out more than you do, it might be time to try camping yourself.
5. Write it out.
Whatever comes out, just put the pen to paper. A good one-on-one with the old is a great way to relax as well as reflect.
6. "Start each day with a task completed"- Make your bed.
This comes from Admiral William H. McRaven, he gave a spectacular commencement speech at the University of Texas in 2012. Take the time to watch and take in the words of this commencement speech and you will understand how each day you have the opportunity to make great strides and impacts upon the world around you.
7. There's only one way to eat an elephant, one bite at a time.
Don't overload yourself by trying to take on everything in your path all at one time. Time management is very important, you can have all the skill in the world but, if you don't take the time to complete each task to it's fullest, you may slip behind.
8. Find the work station that best suits you.
Whether it's in the library, out in the quad, or in that special bench in the building that never seems to be busy when you're in there. Finding a work area that is away from your living room/bed will make coming home an even more pleasant time of your day to unwind.
9. Get social.
Whether it's meeting up for a study group, grabbing some lunch, or watching some quality television, being social will help you look past all of the work you need to do and at the same time it will open up your creative side by hearing your friends opinions.
10. Smile at strangers.
You will walk down countless sidewalks throughout your life, passing by people that you will never see again. What is the harm in smiling at a stranger? Today's world needs more people to smile and open up. Showing your pearly whites to someone while walking to class may brighten up their day more than you could ever imagine. So don't forget to smile! :)
11. Get out of your comfort zone.
When you go through life doing the same old thing, you're going to get the same old results. Nothing beats complacency like trying something new and getting out there. Whether it's setting your alarm 30 minutes earlier so you can get in a quick work out to start the day, or if it's attending that Zumba class which you've always wanted to groove out to. Just try it. You never know what you'll learn about yourself.
Best,
