Before coming to college, I was terrified my roommate and I wouldn't get along. It was one of the things I was most scared about going into college. "The Perfect Roommate" seemed like a distant fantasy that I could never have. Little did I know, from a Facebook message I would find the best friend I could've ever asked for.

Your best conversations happen after everyone else in the world is asleep. After a long/busy day, all I want to do is lay in bed and decompress. Afterwards, rooms and I will literally talk about anything and everything until we can't keep our eyes open. According to How I Met Your Mother, "Nothing Good Happens After 3am". While that is one of my favorite shows, when you live with your best friend, that couldn't be more wrong. Some of the best things happen after 3am whether it be having a real talk or just loving being 6 feet away from someone you love so much.

The Sleepy HaHas happen more often than you'd like to admit. My roommate and I laugh a lot as it is- but when you stay up till 5am having a real talk every night and the exhaustion catches up with you, we can laugh for hours (literally) straight. Everything becomes funny when you're delirious, so don't think you're the only ones.

Free Cuddles. More often than not, my roommate and I will sleep in the same bed. We are all for having guests over because that generally leads to us having to sleep in the same bed. What's better than cuddling with someone who knows you better than anyone else?

You're Never Alone. Physically or mentally, you're really never alone. You have someone to drag with you to the cafe every day. If you don't want to run errands alone, you have a companion for absolutely everything. If you're going on a date with someone you're not sure about, your roommate can call you and get you out of it when it goes horribly wrong, and you have someone you can vent to when things go amazingly right.

You have a Netflix buddy. Netflix and Chill is taken to a new level. You always have someone to talk to about the latest thing that happened on Once Upon a Time or the Office. You can laugh hysterically about Parks and Rec, and you can watch Christmas movies in June without being judged for it, because a lot of times, they love everything you do.

You're Allowed to be a Bum 100% of the Time. Of course, there's the initial weirdness of walking around in your bra, but once you get comfy with your roommate, you can literally get away with wearing a giraffe onesie, or that sweater grandma gave you and no pants- and you won't be judged for it. Between the two of us, some weird outfit choices have come our way, no shame here.

They'll be Straight up with You're Being Stupid. We all have those days, where we hate the world and everything in it, including ourselves. When you live with your best friend- they pull you out of that funk real quick. If you're down on yourself, they're an instant pick me up. If you're getting worked up about all the stressful things going on in our lives, you have someone to explode to. If you're about to make a bad decision, they'll support you if it makes you happy, but will protect you when things don't go your way or when things backfire.

Your Closet Just Got Bigger. Never in my life did I think I would have so many options, there is literally DOUBLE the clothes that are fair game. And on top of that, you'll get A+ fashion advice for those times your brain is mush and you try to leave your dorm wearing 19 patterns at once. You'll find that sometimes your roommate pulls off your clothes better than you, but you know they have something equally as cute (if not cuter) in their closet waiting for you to wear out.

But at the end of the day, You Come Home to Your Best Friend...EVERY NIGHT.

When I hear horror stories about roommates, I literally cannot imagine my life without my one and only roommate. I can't even put into words how relieved I am that I have her. Now, don't get me wrong, just because you don't get it right the first time doesn't mean you'll never be happy, but we sure as hell got lucky. Even after college, I know I'll have her for the rest of my life for every adventure and wine night I could possibly wish for. Love you rooms!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
