This year’s presidential election is one of the most important to date. The number of people hoping that a Republican will be elected as president is more than the past two elections.

Donald Trump is the most talked about candidate to date. Some people are supporting him, while others want nothing to do with his candidacy. The most important thing to think about as a young voter is to listen to all of the candidates running. A person may have a favorite candidate, but one must remember that they cannot exclude the others.

On March 11, Trump was to hold a rally in Chicago, IL. Unfortunately for Trump supporters, threatening protesters outside of the venue caused Trump to cancel his rally. The protesters were supporters of Bernie Sanders. One American news source stated that moveon.org organized the protest outside of the rally venue.

While some would argue that Trump forced this violent protest out of his own verbal violence, this behavior at any rally would not be tolerated. Although Trump can be harsh and controversial at times, he tells it as it is.

Trump brings up ideas and issues that are rather sensitive topics. Since he entered the race for president, he has started numerous discussions on several controversial topics. Trump has ignited voters to discuss immigration and other major issues in the United States.

Promising to “Make America Great Again,” most people do not believe him; however, some supporters want to give him four years in office. That way, they can see what he can do and what he will change. Trump is running his own campaign. He hasn’t taken money from lobbyists or big businesses, so he isn’t “in debt” to a business and won’t be passing a law that businesses want. In other words, Trump cannot be bought.

Some people do not trust Trump due to views he has had in the past. People do have the ability to change their minds. Trump was interviewed 20 years ago on these issues. Time changes people, and he has the right to change his views. Trump also stated he would not run for president unless he felt like America was in trouble. Since Trump is running, he obviously feels that the United States is in a lot of trouble since President Obama has been in office the past eight years.

The First Amendment states that as citizens, We the People of the United States, have the right to freedom of speech. There have been many instances where protesters have tried to deny Trump’s freedom of speech. Up until the rally in Chicago, Trump was still able to express his views in previous rallies. Due to the violence of the protestors in front of the venue in Chicago, Trump was unable to practice his First Amendment right. This prevented ticket holders from hearing a presidential candidate’s speech.

There are many republicans who do not agree with President Obama, Bernie Sanders or Hilary Clinton. However, the Republicans have not been standing outside of the White House or rally venues creating violent protests against the Democratic president or candidates.

Trump has a good chance of becoming the Republican presidential nominee. This puts fear into some, whereas others don’t really care. This is why young people need to be aware of what is occurring in the political world before they go to the voting booth.

Trump may do great things for America and the American citizens. No one really knows, but it is important to listen to all of the candidates in order to form an intelligent and informed decision before casting a ballot. Donald Trump believes he can “Make America Great Again." The only thing voters can do is watch, listen, vote and wait.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
