Pumpkin is everywhere, leaves are changing, along with the colors of the trending clothing items, and that cozy feeling everyone dreams of is finally back. The past two weeks in Johns Creek, GA have really felt like fall. The leaves are almost fully changed, and it dropped under 60 degrees. It's sunny, everyone is in a great mood- so what should you do with that? Here are some fun ideas to do around Georgia with your family and friends during the comfiest time of year.
1. Burt's Pumpkin Patch
This is a great place for families to go have fun, pick out well-done pumpkins, go on hay rides and explore the beautiful greenery of Dawsonville, GA. Open every day of the week from nine to five p.m, there can always be a time to go when it isn't super crowded to have fun and take artsy pictures of your family and friends
2. Mercier Orchards
My family has gone here since I was too small to reach the apples; it's a wonderful place to view the rolling hills of Blue Ridge, GA and to eat some good ole southern comfort food. Pecan ice cream, fried apple fritters, cider (and hard cider), they've got it all. Although typically picking season is over the second week of October for Mercier, it's still always fun to go up and grab some delicious apples and butter pecan ice cream. Downtown Blue Ridge is five minutes away from there with historical architecture and great food and shopping opportunities.
3. Uncle Shucks
If you're into the haunted house scene in the spirit of Halloween, this maze is definitely a go-to. It actually is fairly kid-friendly, but if that isn't your thing then go during the day! There are games, pony rides, photo-ops and of course the maze (that is actually somewhat difficult, but super fun)
4. The Mill
Although a great place to hike and swim during the summer, the Old Roswell Mill is one of the most beautiful hidden places in this part of Georgia. Beautiful scenery, creating a peace of mind through exercise and having fun with family and friends.
Don't forget to relax and try to have fun during a wonderful time of year through all the stress of work and school. Eat as much pumpkin bread as possible (forget about your diet), spend time with friends and family, wear a super high bun (or a man bun), and wear clothes that look tumblr-esqe if you so desire. Let loose, and have a glorious Fall.
