There's something about the atmosphere of a coffee shop that seems to attract college students, whether or not they even like the taste of coffee itself. Not only are they popular places to do homework, but many young adults flock towards coffee shops for socialization as well. The town of Springfield, MO, which contains multiple universities, is no exception when it comes to a variety of coffee shop options. Here are just a few eclectic local places to get coffee here in Springfield, MO (in no particular order):
1. Mudhouse
If you want the quintessential feeling of a trendy coffeehouse located in a downtown city, this is it. Mudhouse's variety of coffee drinks, smoothies, desserts, and food is quite impressive and their staff is thoroughly knowledgeable of the menu. There's something for everyone at Mudhouse, even if you don't like coffee.
2. Potter's House
This coffee shop is literally right across the street from the Missouri State University campus and has an incredibly cozy, welcoming atmosphere. 4. MaMa Jean's Natural Market
While MaMa Jean's is most well-known for being a grocery store, all three locations in Springfield feature delis that have a wide variety of coffee and smoothie drinks. Their Flavors of the Month are usually drinks that you won't be able to find in other traditional coffee shops. During the month of February, MaMa Jean's served a chocolate cherry latte that was unbelievably good.
5. Caffebene
Okay, so this last one may technically be a chain coffee shop, but its currently the only Caffebene located in Missouri. This coffee shop not only has a wide variety of specialty drinks, but they offer an insanely large assortment of bubble tea flavors. Also, they don't charge extra for soy, almond or coconut milk substitutions!
