5 Philosophies To Live By

Everyone needs a purpose in their life. The sooner that that purpose becomes better defined, the clearer other aspects immediately become. Finding your purpose is simple, yet so hard for so many, as it often requires a direct run through one's fears. However, if you have your own moral principles to live by, then the path forward becomes much more straightforward. Here are a couple of examples to get you started on making your own.

Don't Beat Around The Bush

When you want something, or want to get your point across, dancing around it will do no one any benefit. Oftentimes, it will come off as more condescending and awkward, while others are inclined to feel respect for one who gets to the point. This also applies to personal problems. Don't try to circumvent a problem rather than solving it.

The World Hasn't Ended

Today might have been bad. Yesterday might have been worse. Yet you've survived those days, and you've survived this one. Oftentimes the best way to deal with struggle is to just keep on pushing through to the other end, even if you can't see it. So in times of pain, just remember, as long as you're alive, there is still hope to succeed.

Stop Cheating Yourself

Whenever you feel like you don't want to do something, like you want to quit, like you want a break, remind yourself that when you quit, you lose. Your coach will be fine, your boss will be fine, the rest of the world will be fine. Except for you. So think whether or not you're ready to admit that you've lost, and make sure you know your answer is honest before you go on.

Better Than Before

You don't need to become a master of what you want immediately. Just focus on the actual improvement aspect. Aim to be better than your past self, in any respect that you wish.

Fear Is What You Need

Most people are held back by fear of humiliation. The fear that you will be ridiculed if you fail. A good rule of thumb is that what scares you now, will be your most successful future. Just keep that in mind.

I hope that you have decided to adopt any one of these philosophies into your own life. There is a better hope out there for everyone, so long as you have the will to find it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
