It’s safe to say that you’ve heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Even though everybody knows it, breakfast remains the most frequently missed meal. It makes sense, missing breakfast, when you remember that mornings are often one of the must flustered, rushed parts of our day. Even though other things might seem more important than breakfast while struggling to make it out the door in a timely fashion, you may want to think again.

Breakfast is a fundamental meal in that it sets the stage for your entire day. Skipping breakfast makes you irritable, restless, more tired throughout your day, and less able to pay attention to work; an overall bad combination. And if you are one of those people who skips breakfast in hopes of losing weight by cutting back a few calories, you are actually doing your figure more harm than good. Skipping breakfast will slow your metabolism, as well as increase the amount of food you eat throughout the day. If you skipped breakfast today, you will eat 4.9% more food at lunch. The longer you wait to eat; the more excess food you will consume.

Even when we’re fully aware that eating breakfast is an essential step towards a successful day, we still often find ourselves guilty for missing the meal. This is usually a direct response of simply running out of time. You never know when you’ll accidentally sleep though our alarm, or remember a few important things on your to-do lists that were meant to get done the night before. Due to the great uncertainty that mornings often bring, the best way to make sure you do wind up eating breakfast is to make it ahead of time. If it’s made before-hand, all you need to remember is to grab your breakfast before running out the door. Here are a few healthy, make-ahead breakfast ideas that will help you ease your morning routine and assure eating a good breakfast.

1. Make-Ahead Mason Jar Parfaits

Forget stopping by Starbucks for one of their ready-made parfaits and make your own! Assemble these easy, delicious parfaits beforehand to ease your mornings, and then store them in the fridge for up to five days. Try different variations of yogurt and toppings to personally cater to your taste-buds.

2. Freezer-Friendly Breakfast Burritos

These burritos are like scrambled eggs with a twist. If you like eggs, you’ll enjoy every bite and be fully satisfied up until your next meal. Not to mention, they’re easy. Once they’re assembled, they’ll only take around one minute to heat in the microwave before they are ready to eat.

3. No-bake Superfood Breakfast Cookies

Cookies for breakfast are always appealing, but sometimes not the healthiest choice. However, in the case of these no bake superfood breakfast cookies, you can have dessert for breakfast without the regrets.

4. Bircher Muesli with Pear

Bircher muesli is a traditional breakfast choice that can’t be beat. Try this easy Bircher muesli recipe for a tasty, healthy way to start your day.

5. Banana Smoothie Muffins

Store-bought muffins often are filled with empty calories that won’t keep you full for long. However, when you control the ingredients by making your own, it’s possible to make muffins a nutritious and filling breakfast. These healthy muffins contain both fruits and, surprisingly enough, vegetables. These muffins are ideal for breakfast on the run; just grab them and go!

Don’t deprive yourself of an important meal just because of a rushed morning. Plan ahead and allow yourself to indulge in delicious, easy breakfasts by making them ahead of time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
