We Heart It

SoulCycle has quickly become the new "trendy" workout. Between "finding your soul" and being motivated for a full 45 minutes, you experience an amazing workout. Walking into a studio with people decked out in SoulCycle gear gives you nothing but good vibes. On top of the vibes you take in when first walking into SoulCycle, you experience the vibes of the previous class with people walking out of the studio with smirks on their face. On top of an incredible workout, you are welcomed into an unbelievable community with its own lingo such as "saddle," "tap it back", "travel around the world," and "raise your ass into third position" (and no this isn't ballet).

1. You get to "travel the world."

SoulCycle isn't just about peddling to the beat of the music. You climb, jog, sprint, and dance. Read more here: https://www.soul-cycle.com/about/find-your-soul/

2. SoulCycle becomes your community.

Not only can it get rid of your aggression over a stupid boy, or stress from work, but it also helps you to find your inner warrior with the help of the people around you.

3. You get to change your body.

Within what seems like a short 45 minute workout, you have a full body workout which includes the use of weights.

4. You get to find your soul.

It takes a community to find your soul. All of which include the inspirational instructors that are constantly motivating you, candles around the room, and the power of music taking over your mind.

5. You're basically at a sweaty club.

Instead of having to get all dolled up for a club, put on your trendy SoulCycle attire and get low while cycling to Jay Z, Drake, Justin Bieber, and more.

6. What's better than wearing dope and trendy workout apparel from the monthly SoulCycle collections?

Nothing.

7. Equality.

Everyone has the strength to find their soul and is capable within their own comfort level.

8. You have a short conversation with the instructor while he yells motivation at you and you yell back.

"SoulCycle are you ready to climb this hill? Let's DO THIS!" and closing the class with "Not everyone has the strength to do what you do in here."

9. You get to make your way from the back row to the front.

Not only do you see progress with changing your body, but you see progress in being capable of catching the beat on the correct leg as well as completing every sprint. You gain confidence which pulls you to the front row.

10. But let's be totally honest, the best reward is getting an açaí bowl or a Sweetgreen salad after a 45-minute sweat session.

You deserve it!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
