It is that time of the year again, when the library is suddenly full of people you have never seen before and people are sleeping everywhere. The influx of stress on campus can only mean one thing, it is finals time. And if you are like most of us college students, you are underfed, exhausted, and too poor to buy good quality coffee, so you have to suffer through. So before you fall asleep on your keyboard, or start to cry uncontrollably because the stress is too much, take a moment to yourself, have a laugh or maybe a small smile over how finals week is told by Harry Potter
Two Weeks Till Finals:
You are too exhausted from taking exams, quizzes, and writing essays to even start studying. You are fully aware you should study, but every time you look at your notes your brain and body start to rebel against you.
One Week Till Finals:
You have successfully made it an entire week without studying, you are not sure if you are proud of yourself or not. You arrive to the library and realize that everyone else in your class has already been studying and you are in fact behind the curve.
Five Days Till Finals:
Two days into studying, you realize there is no way to keep doing your normal school work and learn everything you were suppose to be learning all semester long. You walk into your 8 am general education class and beg your professor to go easy on the busy work, but as they see it you are still their student and you still have to write that creative writing essay.
Three Days Till Finals:
The finals countdown has begun you have 72 hours till you have to sit down and regurgitate a semester worth of information onto a written exam. You are trying to stay calm but the stress is getting to you, and you can not stop eating.
Two Days Till Finals:
You have officially eaten through your bank account buying every food in the vending machine and ordering pizza to the library. You don't think you could ever eat again. You are constantly on the verge of screaming and crying at everyone and everything in your presences.
One Day Till Finals:
You are 24 hours away from being mentally abused by your professors. You are so emotionally, and physically done that anything the people around you say make you want to cry, laugh, and punch them all at the same time.
Finals Time:
You pack up your backpack, you close your laptop and walk into the blistering sunlight that is finals weeks. You run through everything you have crammed into your over-worked brain and realize it might be ok. You take a deep breath sit down and relax for the three minutes you can before the tests are passed out.
Taking The Test:
You look at the first question and know some of the words on the exam. You start to think about everything you learned but your brain keeps replaying the one verse of the last song you listened to. You brain refuses to work for you and all you can do is try your best, and try to make the music stop.
As You Pass In Your Final:
You have done it, you have passed in your last final, your exhuasted body and mind finally relax. You crack a smile as your caffeine shaking hands, pass your exam into your smiling professor. The professor's satisfied look makes you nervous, they might be smiling because they never have to see you again or because they are about to fail you.
You Arrive Home:
After living in the library for the last week and a half you arrive home, to find your roommates asleep all over the couches and floors. Coffee mugs have filled your sink, and there is no food anywhere. All you can do is drop your book bag and walk into your room.
You Check Your Grades:
You hesitantly login to Blackboard and see the tiny red notification box on the grade book tab. You take one deep breath, pull a box of tissues close and snuggle into your bed. You click on that tiny red box and realize that no matter how hard you tried your fate was sealed. You send as much luck to the next round of students taking the exams and finally relax.
Remember guys finals is only one week, and you can survive 11 days without sleeping before you die.
