I'm not going to sugarcoat it, finals week is extremely hard. After taking four huge tests in three days, I'm pretty sure I slept for a solid 15 hours straight. Getting up early to take exams, staying up all night studying, it's anything but fun. But, in a way, the suffering bonds college students together. We're all just trying to make it until Christmas, and Christmas comedies perfectly capture the biggest struggles of finals week.
During finals week, sleep is the absolute LAST priority.
People actually sleep in study rooms. (But nobody sleeps until all of the studying is done.)
And, as a consequence of getting zero sleep, nobody is looking their best.
Looks like it's sweatpants and glasses for everyone this week. Then there's that wonderful moment when you finally take a study break and get to eat real food.
But more often then not, you decide to rough it and starve (which is a horrible idea, because then all you can focus on is your stomach growling).
And who could forget that awful feeling you get when you put off studying for WAY too long.
But now it's 7:01, so you should probably wait until 8:00 to start studying. Then you think about how your family would react if they saw the grades you're about to make.
I'm sorry, Mom.And then you realize, "These tests are most likely going to kick my butt if I don't start taking this seriously."
On the day of your test, you can't help but feel like you forgot to study some huge concept that will most definitely be on the exam.
Because if you don't figure it out, you will fail and live in your parents' basement for the rest of your life. But, don't worry. You always end up remembering.
Waking up for morning exams is absolute torture, not to trying to be dramatic or anything.
Inevitably, you always end up running late and have to speed walk to class.
You also try your very best to make it across the crosswalk before the sign changes.
Dont honk at me, I'm just trying to graduate!
And when there's material on the exam that no one prepared you for, you just look at your professor thinking...
It's time to take a solid two day nap for sure.
And when anyone asks you how an exam went...
I don't want to talk about it.
But, in the end...
Don't stress too much about finals, because Christmas is right around the corner. Once the week is over, life will be all hot chocolate, holiday cheer, and, of course, Christmas comedies!
