To The Girl Who Feels Like Everything Is Going Wrong

I'm sure it feels like you have everything coming down on you and you can barely catch a break. I'm sure that you wouldn't want anything more than to just give up. But you can't.

Just because everything around you seems to be crumbling, doesn't mean you should crumble too. It might feel like you are, but you can't let it defeat you.

Times will get hard and you will feel like you're alone. Even if you have an army of people behind you or not, you might still feel alone. It's not the ideal situation, but it's also not terrible. Sometimes you need to be alone and feel alone, to accomplish something. To get to the bottom of things. To figure out what's going on so badly, that you're helpless. Sometimes in the moments of weakness, is when you find the true answers to your problems.

You can't be afraid of being alone. You can't be afraid of change or be afraid of things going wrong. Things have to go wrong sometimes and that's that. If you wanted everything to be right in the world, you'd go mad. What you can do, is help the cause to become a better world. To become a better you.

Treat yourself as if you are a world in this universe. Would you try everything possible to help better it, or would you abandon it? Such a pretty world go to waste? Or to build it into something better? I'd hope you pick to build and help it because that's what everyone truly needs. Everyone needs to build their own world and help others build theirs. Though the foundation of you is built by itself. What do YOU want? What do YOU need? What do YOU aspire to be?

Sometimes, being alone is what answers all those questions.

When everything around you seems to be falling apart, think of what you can do better it. Think of how you can grow from those things and create a better world. This is the time to strengthen yourself, so do that. Make yourself stronger. Even if it's a failure at a time.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
