Did you know I can do great things if fear doesn’t get in the way? I could go out into the world with confidence and inspire every soul I come across. Most of all, I can try something new that has the ability to add an extra hint of happiness to my smile.
That is exactly how I try to wake up and feel each morning. It’s hard when I am not the size I want to be, when I'm not making the money I want to make and when negative temptations surrounds me. If you don’t get the picture, maybe this poem I wrote below can give you a taste of what my fear feels like:
I think my mental issues are hiding behind fear. People always said I'll be a failure and because of that, I think I'm living up to my name. I graciously wonder if people are playing games, everybody against me and I'm ashamed. I have turned all of my problems to piercing pain. That stings my mind, with anxiety. I'm sitting between a seesaw of strengths and weakness, but I still can't see what's in front of me. I want to grow and laugh. But fear of this and fear that gets in the way of stopping me. I'm scared of losing everything, including me. I usually write poems about every other thing but this one is about me. My thoughts that come creeping at night. That's stubborn and won't let me be. I get to a place where I long for death, where I'm done, I can hold God's hand don't fear everything and never return. If only that was His plan. I wish it was that simple, that I can run from fear. Fear of failure and fear of pain, but most of all fear of losing everything.
Now maybe you’re thinking this poem is really dark, or maybe this girl is depressed. But I want you to open your mind and let me further express. That maybe you can relate to this poem and let your mind rest. There will be people in your corner, rooting for you, sharing positivity and advice that will help you.
Of course, those that don’t share positivity will be there and wish that you don’t grow. Sometimes you might feel alone and forget about the people that are rooting you on. So now you’re all shattered, but really, it’s all just an illusion because God always has your back that is the conclusion.
Then there is good and bad anxiety that can stop your mind from trying new things. The negative that can blind you from the positive that lies ahead that you can’t see. In your heart, God has put your purpose you long for more than anything. That gives me a reason to live to find out my purpose.
I’m not depressed, and I don't want to die, but sometimes I just want to give up and cry. This is when the happiness begin to peak, when I realize I am not alone. God is holding my hand and I am strong. So next time you have a fear of anything sit back, relax and believe in your dreams.
