Favorite Rap Lies

Strangely enough, even rappers lie.

There is a solid case to be made that every rapper in the history of rap music has lied at least once. Some, like Drake and Rick Ross, lie all the time. Rick Ross has even made a career out of lying. With that being said, some lies rise above the rest and stick out like a sore thumb.

“Lost 92 bricks, had to fall back,” Jay Z

After Googling the cost of a brick, I found out that Jay Z is rapping about casually losing millions of dollars. I understand Jay Z is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, but this is before he earned all of that. Unless he just rapped to support his drug-dealing career.

“Messed around and got a triple-double,” Ice Cube

In today’s NBA, Russell Westbrook and James Harden accumulate triple-doubles regularly, but they still having nothing on Ice Cube. The best part is how Cube was just messing around while accumulating all of these stats in a game to 21. Unless they were running full-court to 50, it is almost impossible to produce a triple-double in pick-up basketball. Strangely enough, all three of them are from Los Angeles, so maybe there is just something in the water over there.

“My bathtub lift up, my walls do a 360, we got the stuff that the government got” Jadakiss

There are so many layers to this lie I do not know where to begin. Like what is the purpose of your bathtub doubling as a transformer? What happens if you have guests over? One button will change the heat while the next one causes a super transformation. My best guess is that Jadakiss is an undercover superhero who needs to always be alert. If trouble is in the city while he is showering, that will not stop him. Also, if Joe Biden did have access to something of this caliber I would not be opposed. Let’s get Biden a badass bathtub!

“With a record of 17 rapes, 400 assaults and 4 murders,” Eminem

As an avid Grand Theft Auto player, I assumed Slim Shady was bragging about a casual Tuesday in San Andreas, but I was wrong. Eminem must have some serious anger issues to go through with these 421 law-breaking actions. The justice system is also quite flawed if he keeps getting off scot-free after doing all of this. At least he did not kill his baby mother in this song.

“You gone hype me up and make me catch a body like that,” Drake

I am still convinced Drake has never been in a fight in his life, so him "catching a body" would be interesting. Him throwing a drink in a guy’s face seems more likely than him catching a body, but don’t tempt Drake. Especially if you are Meek Mill, someone who actually found a way to get destroyed by Drake.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
