The official season of the National Football started this past Thursday with the matchup between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos. If you're stuck on figuring out which players you want for your fantasy football team, here's an early preview of who to look out for in the running back position for fantasy. Usually the best running backs to pick for your draft are usually early in the draft. The only thing is that if you don't want to draft a running back there's always a great late round picks for running backs. If you like to go for a top running back in the draft, here are some suggestions
Adrian Peterson- Adrain Peterson is arguably the best running back on the fantasy football draft board. Peterson has been the best offensive weapon and the go to guy to get the ball at all times for the Minnesota Vikings. Especially now without starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater out for the season with an injury, it makes Petersons workload more than usual. Expect Peterson to put up a big season this year if he stays healthy.
Ezquikiel Elliot- Don't overlook a rookie on early in the draft but this player could a real stud. Dallas has a very good offensive line and with Elliots speed in between tackles and getting open in space, Elliot can give other defenses a huge nightmare because of how dynamic he is. We of course knew that Elliot had great numbers at Ohio State University but of course college football is a lot different than the NFL. You never know also if these rookies are injury prone or not but if Elliot is healthy, Elliot will be key in that Dallas offense along wide receiver Dez Bryant.
Le'Veon Bell- Despite Le'Veon Bell missing the first 3 games of the season due to a suspension, Bell is the best two way-running back in the league. The problem with Bell is that he can't stay healthy but it doesn't distract his fantasy value at all. When Bell is their for a full season, Bell can run in between tackles and catch the ball efficiently when he has the ball. When Bell gets healthy, he has a great pick but at least have couple other running backs also in case he gets injured again.
Devonta Freeman- This guy in my mind is one of the best underrated running backs in the game today. Freeman put up huge numbers last year. His total numbers last year were 264 rushing attempts, 1,061 rushing yards, and 11 touchdowns. Freeman will be a great back that won't disappoint you in big leagues.
Thomas Rawls- There great backs like Lamar Miller, Eddie Lacy, and Mark Ingram who are ahead of the fantasy chart but Rawls is going to be a great sleeper pick. The reason being is because with the loss of Marshawn Lynch, Rawls was a player who no one really talked about but sooner than later, he was the focal point on that offense besides Quarterback Russell Wilson and Wide Receiver Doug Baldwin. Rawls averaged 5.6 each rushing yards which should really help this Seattle team in the long run
In conclusion, the running back field this season is going to be great for fantasy. I expect that their will be many players who will have massive upside and others who will lean on heavily to run their offenses.
