With summer coming to a close, it is time to look ahead at fall fashion trends.

Although we are only a little over halfway through August, if you are anything like me, you’re ready to trade in your bathing suit for an oversized sweater pronto.

The weather channel may be calling for a warmer fall than usual, but I’m not letting this get in the way of the changing leaves, all things pumpkin, and most importantly, fall fashion.

After spending my summer hearing about the latest dos and don’ts in the fashion world through working in a boutique, I decided to take a look ahead at what is coming to stores this fall. The classics including skinny jeans, scarves, booties, etc will always be around, but here are just a few of my favorite 2017 fall looks so far.

1. Statement jewelry

Statement jewelry began trending in the spring, carried over into the summer months and will (thankfully!) continue this fall. Fashionista’s everywhere are searching for the boldest piece of jewelry to complete, and in many cases, make their outfits. They don’t, however, need to break the bank. Bring on the affordable fringe, tassel, pom pom and medallion pieces!

2. Red

Red is definitely the "in" color this fall and I’m loving it. There is not a better color to go along with the change in season. Whether it’s solid red or found in a pattern, it is on point with fashion week’s must haves. Red can easily be incorporated through a pair of over-the-knee boots, a skirt, or in florals.

3. Velvet

To be honest, this trend caught me by surprise at first but it is true. Velvet is back. I was skeptical about this but after doing some research it is not the traditional and outdated velvet you may be picturing. The styles hitting stores this fall are amazing and definitely worth everyone giving them a chance.

4. Fur

Fur has extended even beyond the fashion world and into home décor. It can be found in all sorts of boutiques and stores now, from fur vests to fur pillows. Fur is timeless because it offers a glamourous look while also being practical in terms of warmth. As someone who is all about comfort, this trend is climbing towards the top of my must-finds list.

These are just four of the many trends to keep an eye out for this fall. As someone who loves fashion but does not love always spending money on it, I have found these trends to be affordable and in a wide range of styles which anyone can rock. I have found that finding the perfect new outfit can be the cure to any bad day or a nice way to treat yourself on a good one. Happy fall and happy shopping everyone!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
