Fall is one of the best times of the year. The beautiful leaves are falling and the weather is mostly perfect. Everyone is starting to get in the holiday season mood, which makes everything so much better.

1. 13th Floor Haunted House

Who doesn't love going to a haunted house? Since there aren't any amusement parks in Columbus like Kings Island or Cedar Point, there are a few options for some scary attractions. Make sure to bring a few friends though; you never know if you'll make it out of the house!

2. Making Pillsbury Halloween Cookies

This might be something you can do anywhere, but it is a necessity. I remember making these as a child, and they were gone within a few hours. They were always a big hit to bring to class, and everyone instantly became your best friend. This is a good way to get some friends together and have some fun. You can throw on a movie and start baking in the background. Did I mention it only takes 12 minutes to bake them?

3. Going Lynd Fruit Farm

Not only do you get to go pumpkin picking, but you get to go apple picking! There are so many things for all ages to do here. You won't just be surrounded by children, but by older adults as well. This is surely a place to get a lot of photos for your Instagram.

4. Circleville Pumpkin Show

If you are attending this annual pumpkin show, then the best day would have to be Sunday. On Sunday there is always a 5k at the high school, a parade, a pumpkin pie eating contest, live music, and more. Although it might be a little chilly depending on the weather, it is still a great time to be with friends and family. People of all ages are welcome!

5. Halloween Pet Parade and Fall Festival at Easton

Did someone say dogs? That right there is enough to get a bunch of your friends to go. I always love seeing dogs wearing bows around them, but imagine how cute they would be in Halloween costumes? If you have a pet, it could be really nice to end up bringing them to this parade as well!

Hopefully, if you are in Columbus you have heard of a few of these places. Fall really is a great time to relax with your friends and enjoy the beautiful scenery. There is so much to be thankful for, and what better way than to spend it with your best friends? Happy fall and happy pumpkin picking!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
