As busy adults, from students to stay-at-home parents, fitting work into a busy schedule can be quite hard. Jobs that allow you to stay at home in your pajamas, set your own hours and allow you to multitask are the best for extremely busy schedules. After talking to multiple women, I found there are a ton of options. Here are just a few ways to earn extra income and great companies to work for:
1. Photography
For those with a bit of an artsy side, photography is a great option. A local photographer Sara Burton, told me about a company she started roughly five years ago. Her company, Jolise Photography, is based out of Tampa. She says she puts about 30 hours a week into it and loves that she can make her own hours. This stay-at-home mom loves that she "makes real women feel beautiful." She says, "It's such an awesome feeling when clients look at their pictures and realize that they are still gorgeous and sexy in their own way." She specializes in Boudoir and wedding photography and her pictures can be viewed at Jolise Photography. You can also find her contact information on her website or email her at: booking@jolisephotography.com.
2. Health & Beauty
Young Living Essentials is one of the largest and oldest essential oil companies in the world. Melissa Koehler says, "I have used and loved Young Living's oil products for a long time but I never had any intention of working for them." She has now been working for them for almost two years now and uses the oils for everything from cleaning to homemade face wash. Before she knew it, she had a successful in-home business. She loves that her business is not based on sales, but more on sharing her love for the product. She also loves that she "helps people obtain a healthier, more natural and chemical free lifestyle." She says on average she spends about 8-10 hours a week and she does most of the work from her phone so she doesn't have to be tied down at home. She has four kids and loves that she can take them on a fun trip and not have to be "missing" work. She offers free oil classes to teach people the basics and how to get the most out of the oils they are purchasing. She can be contacted at Massagegirl82@gmail.com and her website is here.
Another great company is Team Beachbody. Donna Parr originally joined Team Beachbody because she wanted to lose weight using a nutritional product. She currently works full time, but eventually wants to replace her job and work full time with Team Beachbody. Her favorite part about her job is how she feels about herself after a day's nutrition and exercise. She says, "It's a lifetime commitment and I love to share and help others with their health." Her website is here. She also said she would be happy to answer questions through her Facebook page or email at cleardirections@yahoo.com.
3. Partnering with Charity Work
Some people love to do charity work and are able to work and make money. Tonya Abel works as a Compassionate Entrepreneur with Trades of Hope. Trades of Hope is a missional business that empowers women out of poverty. They work with artisans from 16 countries to market their handmade goods and follow Fair Trade practices to ensure safe and healthy working conditions and a living wage. "I started with Trades of Hope because I was called by God to do more with my time," she says. "I love that I am partnering with these women to provide a better life for their families and community, while also contributing to my own household income." She also loves the ability to travel and the flexibility of her work. She does vendor events which may take 5-7 hours and other days she just answers email, phone calls and questions. Her website is here. You can also email her at tonyalabel@gmail.com.
4. Getting Crafty
Personally, I love to get crafty. I have hand made custom tutus, headbands, bun wraps and hair pieces for birthdays, holidays and recitals. The great thing was that I could work from home during my free time. I loved getting pictures back from happy costumers of their little ones in their new adorable outfits. I was inspired to start this business one day since I am also a dance teacher and realized it would be easier to learn how to make costumes and head pieces, rather than pay a company to do it for my students. You can see my page on Facebook here. Other than Facebook, another great way to advertise your homemade products is on Etsy.com.
5. Books & Education
Usborne Books is a great company that has been in the U.S. for 25 years now and allows for an unlimited income. Jennifer Britt fell in love with the books and loved that she could get more books in her daughter's hands as well. She does home parties, book fairs, fundraisers and grants. She loves that she has flexible hours and can earn free trips based on her sales. She says she does it as a hobby right now and only puts about 5-10 hours a week into it. You can find her group online here.
6. Food
Who doesn't love food? Personally, I could never go into this business because I would eat all my profit. However, Tina Patch joined Dove Chocolate Discoveries because she was looking for something fun to do, outside of her regular career as a business consultant. She says, "The fact that I'm a chocoholic and I love cooking and baking certainly helped me decide on this company. Plus, the fact that it's backed by the Mars corporation, which has been around for 100 years." Compensation is generous and there are many incentives. She says since she is just starting out and building a team, she puts in about 10-20 hours a week. "My favorite thing is getting out there in the public and meeting all sorts of new people. Whether it's at fundraisers, home parties or corporate events," Patch says. You can like her Facebook page here.
7. Other Products
There are many products that you can sell such as Jamberry, LulaRoe, Thirty-one and many others. However, Jaymi Choate is a middle school teacher and also sells $5 jewelry by Paparazzi Jewelry and Accessories. She says, "I joined a year ago when I was on maternity leave for extra income because I was put on bed rest early and took an extended leave." It is a $99 investment. "Since then, I have done FB parties, home parties and events. People are always shocked when I tell them it's just $5! The necklaces even come with a pair of earrings for $5. I joined this particular MLM company because, let's face it, everyone can afford $5! It's fashionable, fun, and affordable." She likes that she can work her business easily from her computer at home or her smartphone. "I also have a VIP group that I post to almost daily with fun games, info and tips and even giveaways from time to time," says Choate. To join or ask her questions you can join her group here or see her website.
