Although Mother's day has just passed, I think it is still important to realize that every day can be Mother's Day. Everyday can be Father's day too. Parents are people that are constantly working, loving, giving every single day, so why shouldn't they receive so much gratitude on other days of the year as well? I am lucky enough to have two amazing parents, so spending one day out of the whole year to focus on just them does not seem like it is enough, when they give me so much constant love, advice, and support to me every single day of the year.
Of course, it is a lot of fun to spend this one day that is specialized on the calendar to treat them all day and give them presents, but it just seems like they deserve so much more than one day. That is why finding the right presents is always so hard too...what do you give someone material-wise who is constantly there for you and constantly giving love to you?
People (including me) get so caught up in the gift aspect of Mother's Day/ Father's Day that it is easy to forget the real meaning of the day, to thank and be gracious for all that they are constantly doing and giving to you!
To have great parents is really the best thing in the world. Knowing that you will always have their support no matter what, and they will always be there to pick you up off the ground when you have fallen is an extremely comforting feeling to have. Whenever I have something I am worried about, sad about, anxious about, happy about, mad about, I call my mom or dad. They are the first people I go to for so much, so many times throughout the year. Being blessed to have great parents is something to never take for granted, and important to always stay grateful for.
This is why it is also always important to remember to thank them and tell them you love them not just solely on Mother's day or Father's Day. These days are great, but it will make them so happy to hear it on other days too, at the least expected times!
So thank you to the best parents for being the most selfless, loving, and caring people I know. All you have done for me has never gone unnoticed, even though I might not always act so gracious. I always appreciate everything and every day should really be yours, because you both deserve so much!
