ESPN Fans Take To Twitter Regarding Layoffs

The most large and powerful outlet in the sports media industry laid off 100 staffers Wednesday, April 26. ESPN let go well-known staff, including NFL reporter Ed Werder, former NFL quarterbacks Trent Dilfer and Danny Kanell, former NBA player Len Elmore and many more. The network has seen a decline in viewers as people are going elsewhere to get information on sports. Although the laid off staff tweeted appreciations to the network for their many years, many fans took to twitter to hash out their anger and confusion. Beloved reporters and journalists are now a memory to ESPN.

1. First off it seems the acronym ESPN has a new meaning.


2. Everyone seems to have an idea for a new 30 for 30.


3. Throwback to the good ole days. ESPN and MTV have a lot in common now and politics playing into sports is a concern.

4. Who did or didn't get laid off is a very prevalent issue.
