Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival
Inside The Magic

Originally, I went to Orlando this past week for their annual pride. As you can see I was prepared for this amazing event.

Unfortunately, Hurricane Matthew threw a rain on my rainbow parade this weekend and the parade organizers had to reschedule the event for November (hopefully another article).

Fortunately for me, I was already in Orlando and there were so many events happening around the city. One of the events that I've been wanting to go to was the International Food and Wine Festival in Epcot. Every year, from September to October, Epcot gives their visitors a chance to sample foods and drinks that the park normally do not sell.

When I first went inside the park, I was given a passport. This was a guide to all the foods and wine that was given by each country. Because I was recently an American citizen, this was "technically" my first American passport.

My friend gave me his Disney gift card and medal as my "certification" of my food and wine expertise.

The gallery below are the highlights of my experience that day:

The first country my friends and I visited was Ireland and the first food I tasted.

-La Bonne Vie Goat Cheese served with Dried Cranberry Bread paired with Conundrum White Blend 25th Anniversary, California
-Karst Cave-Aged Cheddar Cheese served with Fig Compote paired Kurt Russell's Gogi "Goldie" Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills
-Statesboro Blue Cheese served with Spiced Candied Walnuts paired with Robert Mondavi Winery Maestro Red Blend, Napa Valley

Red Wine Chocolate Truffle from Chocolate Studio.

This amazing wine from Italy

Florida Orange Grove Sparkling Pineapple Wine from Hawai'i

Selbach Oster Spatlese from Germany

Delicious Sake from Japan

Crispy Pork Belly with Black Beans and Tomato from Brazil

Lastly, and my favorite of the day, Mango Bubble Tea with Assam Black Tea and Milk from China.

As you can see, I had a magical time at Epcot. I can't wait to go back... when I have time that is.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
